I noticed this morning that Quinn was hunching over when trying to pass urine and feces today so I took him to one of the recommended vets this afternoon. Inglis Veterinary Hospital in Dunfermline. It was certainly worth the extra distance.
My usual vet tried to fob me off with a squeezed in appointment on the back of someone else. After paying £24 for a 2 minute check-up not that long ago I decided not to bother. They never spend much time with the pigs and show more interest in the usual dogs and cats.
So Quinn got a really detailed examination and the vet even asked questions about his diet, house and exercise levels! The other vets never asked these questions.
His teeth are fine, heartbeat fine and his stomach is soft. Poor thing ended up getting his insides squished to check things out
The vet noticed that he had some discomfort when his stomach area was touched.
He has been given 5ml of Loxicom a day and 0.13ml of Septrin. I have to monitor him passing urine so his temporary cage is covered in paper towels.
Are these medications any good?
Sorry for the ramble by the way!
