Yes...You got it...
Two seperate little boys...And I really don't know if I even want to try and re-bond them after this...

I was sat here about an hour ago...Ripping music for MP3 Player and suddenly there was this massive banging, crashing and clanging noise upstairs...
It didn't sound like their usual popcorning antics, so I went to check it out...

Arnold was sat in the hay loft, his head tilted funny, chattering and squealing like he was in pain...
I go to grab him and he squeals like I've just hit him and makes a run for the pigloo.
I manage to get him out and his beautiful white chin fur is covered in blood...

It doesn't take a genius to realise that Ralph attacked him...And the white fur around Ralph's pigloo meant that he had really gone to town on little Arnold...
So I seperated them and together some boiled water (cooled) cotten pads and buds, lay out a fleece blankets on our chest freezer and then got Arnold down so I could clean his wound...
And then I realised how deep it was...Ralph has pretty much caught the corner of his mouth and torn it...
My poor little boy...He was so brave when I was trying to clean it but I decided it was too big a job for me....

So we're off to see the vet in 30 minutes. The receptionist said there were no vets on the premises so 2:40 was the best she could do...Not her fault, so I thanked her and took it!
I didn't mention how I have NO money, mind you....
Let's hope they don't mind waiting until Saturday for their payment...

Oh, dear...
Not a good day...Not a good day...

Oh no! Poor little Arnold, I hope he is ok and not too shocked after his ordeal?
I hope you're ok too?
Let us know how you get on at the vets, I'm sure they'll be able to clean him up.

I'm so sorry to hear that :0 Hope Arnold will be alright! Sending him healing (((((((((((((vibes))))))))))))) Hope you are OK as well. x

BIG HUG

I am so sorry - I hope that the vet visit goes OK.
I would NOT try to rebond after a fight like that.

Oh no! Naughty Ralph.
Poor little Arnold. I hope he's ok and the vets can sort him out. Good luck with him, poor little lad :(.

Well, just got back from the vets...He had a good look at Arnold and wow...His mouth is torn pretty badly...
It looks really nasty and even the vet cringed. They've taken him to have stitches...
He was such a little trooper, he wriggled a bit at first but after a few minutes he just sat there and let the vet have a good look at him and when the vet let him go, Arnold came dashing across the table to me and cuddled up to me.

He was such a good boy.

It's so scary though...Having to sign one of those consent forms because they're going to anethatise him...I'm really scared. :(
I hope my little boy will be okay...
He's always the one going to see the vet...He's such an unlucky chap but he's so lovely, it's not fair.

I'm sorry. I hope Arnold feels better soon. Hes such a sweetie

I'm constantly at the vets with mine - not from fighting but other things :/

I just got a call from the vets now, he's had his stitches and he's waking up but he's still pretty out of it so they want me to go over at about 5 and pick him up.

I'm supposed to be in work for 5...So there's an interesting phone call to be had. They'll just have to accept that I'm going to be late, there's diddly squat they can do about it.

But yes...He'll be home soon. It's only been an hour and I feel like I've been waiting all day! :{

I gave Ralph a nice cuddle...I shouted at him earlier because he was trying to get to Arnold when I was sorting out the make-shift cage (The ELC ball bit :{ I am so glad I have it!) but I can't blame him...
I'm just glad I went to check out all the fuss, otherwise it could have been alot worse. :(

How are the boys now? So sorry to hear that they have fallen out after 2 happy years together.

Ralph is very quiet...Not himself at all. He seemed to be quite happy on his own earlier but now he's a very quiet, very unhappy little chap...He won't even come over to see me...And he always comes over to me when I kneel by the cage. He's just sat in the corner...
But Arnold is in my room, so they can't see, hear or smell each other.
I had no choice, there simply isn't enough room in the spare bedroom for the ELC ball pit and the piggy cage...

So tomorrow I will be ordering MORE correx...Ugh...
Making another base and making a 2x3 cage right next to the big 3x3.

Arnold is, as I said, in my bedroom...He's still quite groggy...Most likely because he's still in pain. He's eaten some red pepper, I sliced it up nice and small for him and he seemed to got for it right away but when I got home from work, I noticed that it didn't polish it all off, he's eaten some nuggets and some hay, by the looks of it, it looks like he's also had a drink but I'm not too sure....This is why I decided my room is best, because I'll be able to HEAR him drinking in the night.
He's moved his pigloo around, so I'd say that he's feeling a little better.

It was so heart breaking when I got him back from the vets...He was feeling ever so sorry for himself.
I plonked him into his cage, right infront of his pigloo, expecting him to crawl into it but he just plopped onto his side and stayed there :(
So I had to move the pigloo to him, I've set it up so he has easy access to water, nuggets and hay, without having to wander far, he just has to stick his head outside of his pigloo, pretty much.

He has some pills to take for the next week, I need to give him half of one each day, smush it up and mix it with a little water...It's going to be hard to force it on him with his mouth being the problem and all.

Poor Arnold. George can sympathise with him, after 2 years together him and his twin brother Gerry had a big fall out, George got bitten which quickly got infected and swelled up to the size of a golf ball over a weekend! He had to have a GA to drain it as it was so big. They were seperated. Gerry was looking very sorry for himself and has been after my attention a lot. George is like a different piggy! I hadn't realised how nervous Gerry made him. He's not nervous at all now, he's so confident and very vocal and I've seen him popcorning (a lot!) for the first time.
It feels horrible seperating them but it is for the best and there can be a good outcome in the end.
I wouldn't try rebonding them, once one is hurt like that he's not going to forget that and will be very nervous going back in to that situation I would think.

Oh, that's terrible. But I'm glad there was a happy ending. Maybe there's a light at the end of the tunnel for my two!
I think Ralph will be fine, he's very brave and in charge so I think living alone won't bother him...And he can still boss Arnold about through the fence...Hopefully Arnold will come out his shell then...Because he's a very nervous little boy.

After seeing him like he is now...I could never put him in a position where this could happen again.
He was in so much pain, he was trembling and he just had no idea what to do with himself and now...Now he's just sat there, pitying himself and I don't blame him :(

The even happier ending is they're getting (the snip then) girlfriends for Christmas!
George is going for his check up tomorrow so if he's given the all clear I'll book them both in!
I've put Gerry next to my other three boys and George has got the top floor now. I'm not sure how it will go when I put them back next to each other but I don't want to risk putting a girl next door to three boys!
Gerry definately needs company, Ralph sounds very much like him so you might want to think about getting him a friend at some point.
I'm sure Arnold will perk up soon, I don't blame him for feeling sorry for himself bless him. Fingers crossed you see a whole new confident little piggy soon.

Meant to say is it Rimadyl tablets you've got to give him? Some piggies love it so see if he'll eat it by himself first. George had this, the vet said they taste meaty! which is a little worrying. George wasn't keen but the vet said to pop it in his mouth and he'll bite it eventually, took a few nibbles of my finger to get there but he got used to it. Mushing it up was the back up plan. lol
