Hi, I have recently tried to introduce a little bit of bell pepper to my 3, 6 week old guinea pigs. But they refuse to eat it. Any tips on how to get them to try it?

Well for a good 2 years my guinea hated bell pepper so I asked for alternatives and I used kale and other thing! I really don’t think you should force them to eat it if they don’t want too. I never really tried getting my guinea pigs to eat stuff they don’t like. Only recently did they start liking bell pepper.

I don’t want to force them to eat it either. I was just curious to see if there were any tips to try to urge them to try it. It’s a little odd because they have eaten and liked every other vegetable I’ve given them. And that all three of them don’t like it, but oh well, there’s other vegetables.

My guinea pigs are quite picky! You have it easy :) Like I mentioned there are alternatives to bell peppers. So feed those to them. Try to see if they like it in a few weeks or months!

My two boars Bill and Ted never liked Bell Pepper or coriander. they are all individuals and there‘s lots and lots of other veggies, herbs, grasses and forage that you can give them. Don’t worry about it, enjoy experimenting with different foods

Hi 🙂
My 2 weren't really interested in bell pepper when I first offered it to them but over time they've become more interested. Maybe your piggies will do the same? Or maybe they just don't like pepper and you can't really make them. There's plenty of other veggies for them to eat anyway

Try some different colors too if you have the option to. My 2 have fases where they love red bell pepper one month and the next one they're all about orange, yellow or green peppers :D

My two boys never liked bell pepper, then one passed away and my remaining pig, Little, went for guinea pig bonding at a rescue. He came back with a new friend, and a taste for pepper. He wouldn’t touch it before, then you couldn’t keep him away from it!

I hope that this advice helps!
When I first got one of my piggies, she only ate carrot!
I usually give my piggies about five or more different veggies every night. When I removed carrots from the picture for a few days, she started to eat pepper and all of the other veggies! Carrot is still her favorite, but she has become a lot more adventurous! :)

Yeah, different colours might work. My piggies will not eat much red, orange and yellow bell peppers, but they go crazy for green ones!

Ours sometimes get really excited about red pepper, and other times they completely ignore it.

Mine won’t do anything mite than nibble bell pepper  Oh well we just use different veg for vitamin C!
