Hi everybody, Ages since I last posted (still kept busy reading everyone elses though)! Had a sad week lost my piggy called Toffee was so upset, and it was heartbreaking for the kids. Anyway a week had gone by and my other one Fifi just wasn't herself she was eating but no squeaking and no popcorning, I know they have been quieter lately with this awful weather usually just cuddled up in there beds! I decided to get a rescue piggy to keep her company, We got pebbles yesterday from the RSPCA kept them apart for a few hours in the cage and them seperated them in the bed area (so I thought) but when I went out this morning they had managed to get together, Fifi showing her teeth at Pebbles a bit, do you think it's just her showing that its her home? and chasing her a little bit, but just been out now and they are quiet and cuddled up under the hay in the bed area. Do you think I'm going to be ok? Would they be fighting a lot more if they weren't going to get on?

Also can see the difference in pebbles poo, it's not as solid as Fifis but I don't know what she's been fed on, RSPCA rescued her from a house fire and she has been fostered, so she's had cabbage and carrots and dried pellets so I suppose that could just be change in diet couldn't it.

She's a lot smaller than Fifi but Fifi is long haired, would love to know how old she is, but I suppose that's the problem with a rescue you just don't know.

Is their anything else I can do to make this any easier for the 2 of them?

Also! We've been discussing it as a family and would love to introduce a 3rd piggy, so they can snuggle up even more! How long do you think I would have to wait, or do you think it could upset the apple cart adding another one?

Thanks a lot everyone, could really do with some advice on this, Is everybody out there looking forward to some nice weather and sunshine so we can start enjoying are pigs more!

Thanks Dawn

So sorry to here about you sad news..... but at least there is a happy ending. Hope they are still getting on well? As for introducing another one I would say it should be fine to do this if you got a baby or a very young piggie. I have two 6 month old boys and two 9 weeks females and they get play time togther and are fine. Am sure someone will come along and give you some more advice. x

Thanks for your response, don't think I need to be overly worried they seem to be getting on fine and toffee not showing her teeth anymore! As for introducing another one I can't introduce a baby cos they live outside and it will be to cold for them, so would have to be another rescue pig. Will contact a couple of rescue centres over the next couple of days and ask for some advice. Thanks again for responding.

hello, think it should be alright to add a third but would wait a while till you know pebbles and fifi are getting along as it is early days for them to be together and know whether they are going to get on and be friends.

Thanks for your reply, no Fifi not popcorning or squeaking or anything at the moment, can't seem to get either of them out of the bed area, it's so full of hay they must be nice and warm, so can't really tell how either of them are feeling. Wish we had a bit of your weather over here :D
