Heartbroken to say that I had to help my Little White Angel over Rainbow bridge yesterday morning. He didn’t want to fight anymore, he thought it was time to go and munch all those calcium-rich foods he’s missed for the last few years :)

I adopted Rupert back in 2013 to join my little girl Jessie after she lost her cagemate Sheepy, she was only a youngster and was very excitable. He was a very chilled out and relaxed boy but they just got on amazingly and were always next to each other, whether she was causing mischief and he was the lookout or for cuddles! They really were in love, which has blossomed for nearly six years. He’d have been 7 in August.
He’s already massively missed and will never, ever be forgotten.

He was a real cuddler which got him the nickname of Poopy Bear, loved head and chin rubs and it didn’t matter what was going on, if he was poorly and on meds, or having nasty things done, he was always happy and just a lovely boy by nature :luv:

I’m well and truly heartbroken and missing his morning sing song with his (rather deaf!) lady, every morning for all these years and the house is very quiet without his happy go lucky self around 😢

Love you so much Rupert, you took a little chunk of my heart with you x

Thanks so much everyone, I’m definitely feeling a bit lost without him, especially with all the feeds and love recently! He was a very special boy and really hope I gave him the best life I could x
Thankfully Jess is doing ok thanks @PigglePuggle, was so worried she’d give up eating or be utterly miserable but has played with her new toys and been munching some tasty things I bought for her earlier. Not a peep from her though and with her being deaf had to wake her up for veg this morning as she didn’t realise I was up! He was her ‘hearing piggy’ xx

@alpacasqueak holding you in my thoughts. It so hard to when you lose a pet you have spent time nursing. Holding them and nursing them brings out all your most maternal instincts. Hope Jess continues to be fine, didn't realise she was deaf. I have a deaf cat and he is very different to any cat I've had before, he is 3 years old and has never hissed or growled at anyone or anything. Don't think he knows how too.
Massive hugs to you, Jess and Pedro.xx

Thanks so much, I hope I did do everything. He was brilliant with his fighting spirit! For a lad that had two ops and lots of problems for a while he really didn’t let it get to him, even at his age, he just loved life  and food and kisses! And of course his lady! Even if she was a veggie thief and didn’t give him much peace! :) x

Jess wasn’t deaf when I adopted her, her hearing has just gone over the years although nothing really caused it that we could tell. Rupert would squeak and she would too just to get the point across! :) Did joke he would be as she’s the loudest piggy ever though! :)
