I have separate threads for both Rosie (Milk moustache) and Lily (A majestic pom-pom), but have decided to make a merged one since together they are the goodest of pigs. I am 100% biased, of course :’)

Hooman is sick right now, I don’t handle them much for their sake, so when they sense me around or hear my voice they get really excited and chatty. Such sweet pigs, hopefully they know hooman misses them, too.

Hooman forgot to post, but Lily wants it known that she visited the big scary vet office a couple days ago and was a very good pig.



Hooman was away and temporary servant didn’t realise Lily had torn off a nail - there was no blood and Lily was still channeling Usain Bolt when doing laps around the cage.

Main hooman obviously had 5 heart attacks upon the discovery because Lily’s paw was a bit swollen, so next day both pigs were put into the ever degrading ‘lunch box’ and taken to the vet.



Lily’s paw was okay, no infection, no nothing. The pigs had a general check, then received cookies and scratchies from the kind vet.

Lily’s pawsie is looking good, and Lily behaved so well, as she always does. Better document this so hooman can be blackmailed if the veggies are ever late again.

Lily usually loves the camera but these are the only pictures I was allowed to take today.




I gave them a piece of clementine a couple of days ago and they loved it so much I’m technically being held prisoner now. I get screamed at whenever I dare breathe or move.

I was brave and cold hearted enough to remove the apple after a few nibbles. Not sure I’d have the guts to do that with Miss Bramble around, though. She’d probably put ME in a cage

Sweet cheeky Rosie has what we suspect to be a UTI. Not sure how it came to be, the cage is changed every week, wee pads every few days.

Rosie’s on painkillers, antibiotics (bleh), probiotics and a short course of extra vitamin C to help boost her immune system, by advice of the vet. She is currently tucked away in her sleeping bag, recovering from the sedation she was given for an X-ray.

Sister Lily has switched into care pig mode; sleeping close to Rosie, sniffing her all over, giving kisses. I have to shush her away sometimes as Rosie’s pretty out of it, exhausted, and Lily’s constantly bugging her :’)

I hope Rosie feels better soon. The X-ray showed a small amount of gas in her tummy, probably the result of pain, and she was below 900g at the vets this morning. So I also have critical care at hand.

If only we could take away their pain, I’d take it onto me in a heartbeat..

A little elf surprised the pigs with a hay tunnel. Lily was ecstatic, you can see it in her face.



Then she found a paper bag, grabbed it, and booked it out of there.




The paper bag is her property now.

My old man who “is not an animal person” (yeah right) is on a visit.

He came to me with the most concerned look after fixing a cupboard in the pigs’ room and said “Your terrorists are screaming at me. Shouldn’t you feed them?”

Veg time was 15 minutes ago.

This is blood, isn’t it? It’s definitely not Rosie’s normal wee - I have never seen bloody wee and I’m mad at myself for having bright yellow fleece right now. They’ve not had beet or red bell pepper in the last few days.

She’s acting like Rosie, her weight is stable, she’s playful. I gave some extra cucumber after discovering the wee spot, got her to wee again and well, she had no discomfort and her wee was clear.

I’m calling the vet first thing in the morning but I’m confused. It’s definitely wee and swiping her bum left behind some discolored spots. Her trousers area has also been a bit wet.
