Me: You need to stop over indulging Ruby all the time. No wonder she has social issues and no idea she is actually a guinea pig.
DD1: You are so harsh. Ruby is not spoilt - she just has very high standards.
Me: She is a diva and you are her enabler.
DD1: She is complex, and you just don't understand.

1 hour later I go out into the garden and see this.

Me: What are you doing.
DD1 Hand feeding Ruby some grass I picked for her. She doesn't like to pick her own.

She’s beautiful. I do have a thing for agoutis :)

I do the same for my older girl, Molly, when she's out on the grass. I pick dandelion leaves and post them to her through the bars, even though there are some growing her side of the run! I just don't think she sees them herself. Anyway, spoiling a guinea pig is a fine. Don't fuss 😂😂😂

Mini slave! Bring me more grass. No - not those blades that other pigs have walked upon. I want my own, virgin blades of grass untouched by other pigs’ feet (and scent glands). I want only the best and most succulent strands. And feed them at the correct height so I don’t have to stoop my ever so precious neck.
And stop listening to the big boring slave who goes on about homework and room tidying......

OMG I’ve realised I have tapped into Ruby’s inner diva. And read her thoughts....

You've spent too much time with too many guinea pigs. That much is clear 😂😂

Oh oops! Are we not supposed to be hand feeding individual succulent blades of grass from 'the other side', making sure each blade is similar in size & quality as the others in each batch of 4 that I give? :))

My 4 line up to get the hoomans choice blades, dandelion leaves, yarrow stems, etc. I get a lovely view of tongues & toofies too :D

They are not spoilt diva's at all - the same as I am not conditioned to pander to their every whim! :))

.... Bit like the ever so gorgeous Ruby & DD1 really I guess
They do have a wonderful bond
Xx

Is that a problem? 🤔
Oh course not! 😂😂😂

I actually really have a t-shirt that says 'time spent with guinea pigs is never wasted'. The truest thing I've ever seen written on a t-shirt!

(For a minute there when I read your reply I could see all the other forum members hanging up behind you scowling too 😯)

I can quite honestly say I love spending time with my pigs. I talk to them so much, occasionally think oh the neighbours 🤭, then carry on telling Shrimp how handsome he is and complimenting Molly on how her hair is growing back beautifully after her sister used to eat it.

@VickiA was spot on with what Ruby was thinking. I loved it! ♥️

It is nice to see children giving their time to pets. Quite a lot of them don't. And really we are privileged to have such lovely animals as part of our lives ♥️

Oooooh can I see?
I have one agouti and one what I think is an aby/ridgeback mix

Sure. This is Bramble. She's a crested agouti? (Milly is a long haired red eyed something or other 🤷🏻‍♀️)

And this is Molly...

Molly was barbered by her sister who is no longer with us 😥, so her coat is still growing back.

My heart is doing the happy dance looking at these piggies, I just love agouti piggies (and every other breed of course) bramble has the same big floppy ears as my Bruno
