A while ago i posted that Ruby had been squeaking when holding her and touching her tummy, however this had stopped the next day, so I didn't think anything of it.
Today however she has been squeaking again and chewing when holding her , seems to be more if you touch part of her back or her tummy.
She has been eating, drinking and acting herself and hasn't lost any weight and doesn't feel bloated.

Previously: She was successfully treated for a UTI in June (I think) and other than that she was treated preventatively for mites using xeno450 (she completed the full course) in August so I wouldn't have thought it would be that.
She just seems a bit of a mystery, she is the most nervous of the girls so I sometimes wonder if it is because she is scared and doesn't want to be held.

Anyway, I am leaving for uni at 7:15 tomorrow morning so no- one is around tomorrow until late. However, I am planning on booking an appointment at the vets on Saturday morning for a general check over and find out what is going on but I won't be there to take her (my Mum will be taking her).

I was wondering what she will need to ask the vet/ make sure that she gets, I know the vet is recommended on here but not sure whether he just sticks to 'baytril' and that's it or whether if something is wrong whether he would give metacam for pain.

Thanks in advance!

Oh no, poor Ruby :(

Is there any squeaking when weeding or pooing, or does she just seem tender when her tummy is touched? Good idea to get her checked over at the vets, keep us updated on her, sending lots of healing vibes to Ruby x x

Just generally squeaking when touching anywhere. It is frustrating as she will squeak for a day and then stop and you can't really pinpoint any location. I haven't seen her squeaking when weeing/pooing but then again she is pretty nervous and generally hides in the bedroom area unless she doesn't realise you are there, so without doing the whole wee collection in a bowl I'm not going to know. If I am up early enough and ready in the morning I will bring her in and wait.
I'm going to make an appointment tomorrow morning in my break at uni and see what they say. x

Best to get her checked over, the no weight loss and eating is a good sign.
Hope you can get to the bottom of it. x

Sorry i dont really have any suggestions, just wanted to send Ruby some kisses xx

Been to vets...

The vet thinks its a uti as very tender under her belly. Ultrasound showed no stones and bladder looks ok. She has had a metacam injection and is on septrin 0.6ml daily for 5 days is this an okay dose? Was going to give baytril but i asked if there was anything else so she is on septrin x

Great she has no stones. Poor baby. I really hope the infection clears up soon.

Yes that's a decent dose. Good news on ultrasound. I'm sure the anti biotics will help clear it up. Healing vibes to Ruby x

She is currently on Septrin, Cystease and avipro plus and she takes them like a star.
She is brought in for cuddles and her medicine and has taken to stealing the septrin syringe rolleyes and hiding behind my back.
She certainly still has all her energy and cheekiness, and no weight loss infact after her medicine this morning she weighed 1275g, little chunky monkey.

How wonderful she actually takes her medicine. It makes everything so much easier.

I am really glad there are no stones, fingers crossed the AB's clear up any infection, bless her, what an angel for taking her med's so well? xx
