I have just got my 6 year old Rupert back from the vets. I took him in yesterday as he had what I thought was a burst abscess on his back end. The vet diagnosed 2 ~Trichofolliculoma abscesses. He said he would have preferred to operate to remove them but as they were so near Rupert's anus the only other option was putting Rupert under anaesthetic and squeezing the pus out of the abscesses. So I left Rupert last night and picked him up this afternoon after his treatment.
Rupert had been suffering from impaction. So his bum was frequently swollen so because of this I missed the abscess until one burst. That's when I took him to the vet.
Rupert has been prescribed 0.3 mls of metacam twice a day and .0.5 mls of septrin twice a day.
Has anyone had any experience of this. Any advise welcome.
