This is a puzzle to me. Redemption is not quite 6 months old yet but already he is a few grams over 1 kg. Salvatore is quite small and weighed only 650 g on Sunday, with no fat between his skin and flesh, but if one is to judge by genital development then he is a lot older than Red. Sal was in with two very large boys at least a year old when I got him. At first glance I thought Sal was a pup, but when I picked him up and saw that he was even more developed than Red in the boar bits department, I assumed he had been stunted because he couldn't get to the food.as katie says he doesnt looks very old i would guess he's not hit 6 months old yet (closer to 3-4)He does look young but also, if he's been deprived of a good diet then that will have affected his growth, difficult to tell.
Besides the skin condition hes starting to look like a normal healthy piggy! Well done pat your doing a great job.I wish i could meet him. Did you know he is part abysinian? Not a pure bred, but has atleast one roset that i can see. The boar in my picture is also an abysinian cross.

Regardless, I don't think he is older than a year based on his fellows, but I also don't think he is as young as his size indicates. If he is older I hope the good food I provide will help to eliminate or at least diminish any lasting deficit from growing up with poor nutrition. He is eating eagerly now; I put a pile of grass in earlier today, and when I was awakened from sleep at 5 a.m. the grass and clover were gone, so I went outside and picked more for him. (Who in their right mind goes outside at 5 a.m. harvesting grass for guinea pigs.)
