Hello, I little while ago I noticed my guinea pig had a little bit of dry skin behind his ear, I decided to put some cream on it, however today when I looked a large red scabby lump has apeard, anyone know what it could be?
In this photo it doesn’t look as bad but it is very raised and red.

Please see a vet for a fungal infection, possibly highly infectious and transmittable ringworm.

If the latter is the case, please read these guide on ringworm care and your customer rights if your guinea pigs are new.
Good hygiene is absolutely essential if you want to get on top of ringworm, which can also transmit to humans and other species pets; our guide is telling you exactly what you need to do in order to get over it once and for all!
Please do NOT home treat on spec!

Yes this is definately a fungal infection and is going to require a vet visit. Make sure you wear gloves when handling and wash thoroughly.

Please be aware that this is likely a contagious issue and could spread to both you and any other guinea pigs that you have.
