No you'd just need to get Iggy's notes transferred across to them from your practice. But Cat & Rabbit clinic (where Simon works) can request that from your current vets...
Maybe @furryfriends (TEAS) could advise further as she works very closely with Simon
Yes I was worried that might be the way we're heading. The thought of him being operated on again scares the life out of me but it's for him.
You're right, I'm at the point where I need to get to Northhampton somehow but I have no idea how. I'm guessing Simon would be the best person for the job? Will I need a referral?

I would speak to Simon; he is certainly very experienced with tricky and fiddly guinea pig ops and uses a different GA to most general vets, which means that piggies generally come round without much easier and with less complications.
It is a nightmare when you have to somehow get through London, I agree. Trains for Northampton depart from London Euston.
Thanks! That's not too bad then, my vets have been honest and have said they don't think they can do much more and recommended some other "exotic" vets but haven't heard of the C & R clinic. I'm just glad that there won't be any hard feeling with my regular vet.
My vet hadn't heard of C & R clinic either but knew of Simon and Kim!Thanks! Yea I've been looking at trains, would it be too stressful to go on a 4 hour odd journey like that?
Simon is a general and not an exotics vet but he and his wife Kim have specialised in running a clinic only for cats, rabbits and small rodents, so he sees many more guinea pigs than even most exotics vets. He has kept up his knowledge and has trained in new operation techniques. Kim is very good, thorough and thoughtful when examining and Simon has a real gift for fiddly ops.![]()

No, I have been on several train journeys that have lasted well over 3 hours (and with a delay actually took over 4 hours). I have met somebody at the Cat&Rabbit from Edinburgh driving 8 hours down and then 8 hours back with their dental guinea pig in one day...
Just make an appt to see Simon or Kim. When you call to make the appt you’ll be asked if your piggy has been seen elsewhere and they’ll request the clinical notes from the other practice. If you come by train I’ll probably be able to pick you up at station and take you to the practice. X
Just let me know when you’ve sorted an appointment :-) xx
Once you’ve sorted it I’ll pop it in diary :-)Thank you, I shall be more organised tomorrow and get it all sorted! Xx

I’m around all this week so let me know what they say tomorrow xThanksI'll try to see what kind of availability they have this week which I'm aware will probably be too late notice but if that's the case we'll find our way I'm sure
Luckily I've got holiday to use up so I've taken some time off and I'm determined to get this sorted once and for all! X
I can pick you up at Northampton station around 9 am. I’ll do my pet care visits first (I’m a pet sitter) and then head to station. I’ll message you my phone no. xx
Wow! Never seen inside a piggy before! Those are amazing!I've got the X-rays now, no idea what I'm looking at though

Are they requesting all the history from your vet?
