Should I Adopt Him?

He is gorgeous, I can see why you went back for him. I would at least give him a round of fungal baths. The white patch on his nose, is that his markings or a scab? it's just it looks like fungal possibly. It could be that he has both mites and fungal if his immune system has been compromised. I think as they have been so vague it would be worth getting him checked by your own vet and also quarantine him away from your own pigs until he has the all clear.

The white marks are just markings on his nose but I do agree he is in a seperate c&c while I assess him! I think I may treat him myself just to make sure as I have noticed he is still nibbling at his back! I think it's only wise too treat him then I know where I stand!

You definitely did the right think in going back for him, he is gorgeous is have done the same thing :) I like the name Oakley :) please keep us updated on how he's getting on. I can't believe how cruel people can be getting rid of him bless him well at least he has a lovely home with you :)

Good evening everybody, so I have decided he shall be called Oakley :D he has settled in already! He doesn't hide at all anymore in fact he comes too you and loves to be stroked which is a novelty with my piggies :D I think he has always been a lone piggy as he is totally bemused when my other boys start wheeking he looks at me as if to say what on earth is that? He loves the ING hay and hay diving in his tray and his appetite is very healthy although he has no idea what herbs are!

So I was wondering when too start his xeno? They were so vague about when his last treatment was I don't want too overdose him! He does still scratch and bite his back where his bald spot is so I want too get him sorted!

Here's a couple of pics from today enjoying his hay :D I was right next to him taking them again a novelty :D

Did they give you a rough indication of when it was? doses are usually at least a week apart.

Nope they were so vague and I just got the feeling he was blagging it! He said that he had been off for a week and Oakley was still been treated then but couldn't give me a date or anything, which I found odd surely there is a health record somewhere? I know that they can still scratch as the mites themselves can cause irritation when they die but he definitely has sensitivity too that spot on his back! I will try too get a pic of it later his asleep in his hay tray at the mo bless him!

Ok guys please help, I got Oakley out today to check him over and clean his bits and gland but I could not get his penis out to check it, there is nothing there! Every time I push gently like I do with my other boys he whimpers but nothing pops out! Plus he hasn't got tedticles like my others, He is a he right? I feel so stupid right now!
Another thing Ted & chewy have their cage right next door and Ted has been going crazy (he is usually calm) but his randy for want of a better word constantly trying to mount chewy! Coincidence?

From the first photo I would say boy but the others make me a bit unsure. I am the world's worst at sexing pigs though. The boys next door could just be being dominant due to a new pig being nearby. I think a vet check is needed to properly diagnose the skin issue and to also check everything else over.

I would have said boy from the first pic.How old is he? Heathcliffe wasn't very well endowed and he turned out to have undescended testicles that can cause problems.

I thought I was quite good at sexing but this has me worried! I thought I would let him settle for a few days before "messing" with him. He looks nothing like my other boys what so ever, on them I can feel the ridge and then make the winky pop out but I can't feel anything on him at all and when I gently press it just opens up, I left him alone after a few attempts as he was getting upset but for the life of me I could not find anything! @madguinealady I have no idea how old he is at all, nobody knew? I'm thinking at least 1-2 years old though just by his size and nails. One thing that concerns me is that he is drinking a lot and has a pear shape to his body so not only is he poss a she but also pregnant?!?!?! Oh I dunno I've been stressing all day over this :td:

When I got my baby boys Kimi & Murray it was chewy that was going crazy trying to get to them (no humping) and Ted was totally oblivious to it all but this time Ted is up the bars sniffing then goes after chewy to you know what totally out of character for him!

I would get him/her checked by a vet to be safe.He does look a bit like heathcliffe did before I got him castrated.Heathcliffe was thought to be 12 months old and I knew from having Kyle he wasn't right. If he does have unprotected testicles he needs to be castrated

I will get him to the vets hopefully they will have a slot tomorrow I wanted to ask them about his skin anyway so hopefully they can get him to pop out ;)

Meant undescended not unprotected testicles. If they aren't in the right place it can cause them to become cancerous due to overheating.

So he is a he :D finally managed to get it too pop out although not easy! I have got him booked into the vets tomorrow for a health check (earliest I could get).
Hubby and my youngest son have gotten so attached too him already, strange for hubby his not really bothered about my other ones! BUT I have a few concerns, Oakley is currently (temporarily) housed in a 2x4 c&c but he hardly moves he literally uses the equivalent too a 1x2 c&c space never really ventures away down the other end of the cage  he is pooping/weeing and eating/drinking fine but his activity levels worry me abit, there's no running, popcorning or even walking much to be fair, he does wheek for his veggies but does not seem bothered by my other piggies and I mean NO interest whatsoever!! I was hoping to get him a friend once health check and skin issues were sorted but I really don't think his bothered! Or is he lonely and that's why he doesn't move around? I have only got really young piggies but the difference is quite huge too me! Any advice?xx
