Size of piggy cage for two GPs

You could either by a cheapo table (like a wallpapering one) or make a base out of grids. However you'll need to use cable ties rather than connectors to put it together as the connectors aren't really safe enough (in my opinion) to hold together a higher cage. Oh, and if the cage was on the ground you wouldn't need to put any grids under the correx but you will if you raise it.

thanks daftscotslass! i might just leave it then! lol! makes life a bit easier!

yes that what everyone is saying, the Nero 3 which I have is a tad too small.

I shall be selling this once I get my new GP which should be in 2 to 3 weeks. Its brand new, only used it for 3 months!

I've got two in two cages. I think if you have them out for play time a lot you can get away with a slightly smaller cage. Get a big run and line it with lots of paper and old towels (if you use it inside) and make sure they've got water, food and houses. That's what we do. They get at least two hours a day in there, the bigger girls get to stay in there for longer, but the baboes get a little upset and want their cage.

Here's my run http://www.petplanet.co.uk/product.asp?dept_id=373&pf_id=8205

for the water bottle and those with screwfix grids, how do you attach them to the cage? seems like the grid holes are too small?

We've got our boys in CNC cages which are two grids high. The bottom layer is a base and the correx goes on the top of that layer with the second layer surrounding the correx. As I said above, I find the Screwfix connectors stay in place quite well, but the B&Q ones tend to come apart fairly easily, especially if you happen to bang in to them. Hence the base layer is made up of the screwfix grids and we haven't had any real problems. When we re-arrange everything this weekend (hopefully) I'm going to try and avoid using the B&Q ones.

BFI... Brute force and ignorance. Once you've forced them through once they will expand the gap and make it easier to remove them.

They are you just cut a little snippet out to fit it in. :)

is this easy to do - what did you use to make the little holes - what part are the holes for? does the bottle sit on the outside, create a hole for the mouth part and holder?:{:{:red:red

Its simple, you just snip one little X on the grid the bottle is on the outside yep. :)

thanks, i dont have the grids and havent seen them in real life so going my the pics on the website, i am sure it will make sense to me when i get them! I have to order mine into my local shop which I shall be doing once I have seen the other GP tomorrow! :) :)

thanks everyone! i ordered two packs of grids from screwfix and should be in this week. i am just on the prowl for correx - i rang travis perkins and they were going to charge me £20 a sheet! i think not as can get for less on ebay for 5 sheets!
