On this forum i get mixed up on the time because I am from the US and so its actually 7:30 a.m. So once i put the new hay in his cage he ran straight to his food bowl.

I thought you were probably from the US because you said "pet store" instead of the British "pet shop"!

The guinealynx forums (see link in my earlier post) have more members from the US, so that's the best forum to ask about local rescue places.

So if its morning should i give him any veggies today? and should i cut them up like small pieces or slices?

If I were you I'd try no veggies at all for one day. He'll be fine with hay, pellets and water.

And yes, I'd cut the veggies up, but that's not really important one way or the other. The main reason I like to cut veggies up is to release the yummy smell!

I have an apple in the refigerator thats already cut up for him. Should i try any fruits? what would you recommend as a good fruit for him because i have heard different fruits are better?

Fruit is not really good for piggies at all, except as an occasional treat (say twice a week). While you're worried about your baby's poops, I wouldn't feed fruit at all. Sorry. You'll have to eat it yourself!

okay so just hay, water and food for little Sniffs. I didnt give him veggies for a day and the next day his poop went back to normal and than i gave him that carrot and now its green. He is my baby and i was reading all these horrible things online about guinea pigs having green poop. So thats why i wanted to join the forum, so i could learn more.

So i havent give Sniffs any veggies for a day and his poop is still green and a little slimy. Any advice?

It might be worth getting a little probiotic to settle his tummy.

Pet shops in the UK sell this but i dont know if they do over there. :/

So Sniffs is doing better now that i gave him some carrots and cucumbers. Than i gave him some orange and he went crazy. I relized when i purchased him i didnt buy vitamin C drops so he hadnt had any Vitamin C for 5 days.

Hi,

Did you change his dry food yet or is he still on the one that he was before with the dried fruits in? I see you have only had him for a week is that right? Is his food different to the one he was eating at the pet store? If he is now having different dry food plus lots of veg it will affect his tummy. I would get him a new food, preferably pellets rather than a mix type, and see if that settled him down. But introduce the new food gradually.

I am going today to get him new food. He is only 3 months old so i think the food is different than the one at the petstore.
