My piggies haven't gotten floor time yet because they're still too jumpy and try to find places difficult for me to reach to hide. But I have one question: does your kitchen floor ends up being a mess (poop mess I mean) after your piggies' floor time?
Actually they poo only in certain corners, into the wooden house and into the box with the hay; there is no wee, too, only sometimes in a corner. Honestly I am not a maniac of the tidiness and I am lazy in cleaning up the house... But the kitchen is not in a real messy, just some string of grass, but as you can see I am using now a carpet. My piggies would stay always hidden under the cupboard, the are lazier than me! in fact long ago this was the situation:
then I decided to close the passage under the cupboard (and the piggies were very good in finding some little hole for going there again!)
Now I have found a good solution; there are tunnels made with old yoga mats and two "houses", an old doll house and a card box taken at the bins:

they don't nibble at the furniture (strange!); my old piggie I had long ago made some little damage at the chairs of the kitchen... These two piggies don't care of the wood of the room, in fact I leave them free even when I am not at home...
Unfortunately these piggies are very shy and run away when someone walks by; they don't come near my feet and for catching them I have to take them into the house (Calipso is smart and knows very well when it is time to be caught and she does not go to the house! she runs under the table, the chairs and I sometimes need someone else helping me!)
If you want to try, I suggest you those fences for garden which can be closed; you can arrange a side of a room taking advantage of the walls, some furniture and these fences (I have two).
It is important to make piggies walk and run for a lot of good reasons, also for ther health of their bladder which has always calcium residuals easily going to the bottom. Unfortunately their uretra is on the upper side of the bladder; running and moving the body makes something similar to those glass spheres with faint snow inside... when you move the sphere the snow never goes still to the bottom.
