I posted this pic on another thread but something else happened last night that (well, to me anyway) was really amazing.

Rosie and my daughter have a special bond; Rosie has never been my biggest fan. Rosie is the last of my "original" group of piggies since I moved house 4 years ago - they were all between 5 and 7.5 in the last year and it has just been that time if you know what I mean.

In the last fortnight we have had signs that Rosie is winding down though she has had a UTI which hasn't really helped. She is a complete minx and will NOT take her antibiotics from me at all but for some reason she will take them from my almost 3 year old.

Rosie comes running over when my daughter comes into the room and runs away when she sees me. We had to move the piggies out of their C&C cage as Becky was trying to climb IN! She eats out of Becky's hand and turns up her nose if I try to feed her. She squirms out of my arms when I try to syringe her some extra water, she run over to the cage door to drink from a syringe that Becky gives her.

Last night my other half heard a funny noise in the hallway about midnight. He thought it might be mice again. He went out to have a look and found Rosie, who had managed to get out of her cage (my fault, I hadn't closed it properly when I'd given them their hay) and was lying having a snooze outside my daughter's bedroom door. x)

AWWW - what a special bond indeed! x)

I hope that Becky will cope when Rosie is leaving.

What touching story. I'm all teary.

And that photo is fabulous -- two precious faces communing so sweetly. :rose

Awww bless them :).
My youngest has the 'special touch' too, I think it's lovely when kids have pets and they grow together, it makes children more aware of animals, life, death etc.
It's quite sad that in my daughters class only a few children have pets so the rest don't really get to interact with animals.

Aw what a lovely story, your daughter obviously takes after you and has that special relationship with piggies. Maybe she'll be a piggy whisperer!

Beautful picture and a lovely story too. A piggy knows what it likes alright! :))

You daughter obviously has a natural gift with animals, something to be really treasured. Perhaps as an adult one of her earliest memories will be Rosie - how sweet would that be! :)

That is a beautiful picture - I'd be blowing it up and framing it!

What a lovely story - the bond between piggy and her best friend xxxxxxxxxx

oh no, I'm so sorry about Rosie, at least you have this beautiful pic to treasure forever, rip Rosie xxxxx

That's so sad. I'm glad she made a human friend before she passed. Popcorn free little one. Big hugs to you and your daughter. x

Aww what a lovely story and picture. I'm so so sorry to hear that Rosie passed away. Hope you and your daughter are ok. At least you have that precious photo of Rosie and your daughter.
