hi ! so recently my guinea pig has been staring at the corner and he sleeps a lot, but he does act pretty normal. he eats, plays regularly, drinks, poops normal, everything. i didnt get him when he was a baby but he wasnt a full grown adult either. hes the first guinea pig i have ever owned and i want to know if there is anything wrong with him? i dont want to be too concerned or anything since i do have a habit of overthinking :,)

Guinea pigs are sometimes little couch potatoes, I wouldn't think there would be anything wrong with him but I'm not an expert sorry

Does you piggie have a mate or friend. .
Check the behaviour information on here. Great info and help.

Cornelius does this a lot - he‘ll just sit there and stare into the void (example picture) :)) if you‘re concerned about it, however, it‘s always best to get him seen! If he hasn’t got a friend already it would be great if you could get him one - piggies do a lot better with a friend. Ignore that last part if your boy already has a friend :)

Hi!

Is your piggy an only piggy or has he got company and stimulation from his own kind?
Please have him vet checked but also consider whether he needs more stimulation and interaction. Older piggies will sleep more and be a bit less active, but they should still have an interest in life, new things or piggy company. Unfortunately you can diagnose a depression only by default and not as the first thing because it is easy to miss an underlying health problem that way.

Please take the time to read the information in the green links below. You will find it hopefully helpful as the guides deal with different aspects in more depth and detail that I have mentioned above. Since it has taken me days to write each guide, I can't repeat it all from scratch in every post.
