Such A Thing As Too Many Toys?

@Piggies&buns That's good to know, what counts and what doesn't! I should have about 4-5 qualified hides then in my cage, although mostly tunnels/"magic muffs". It will depend on how many I make, but I'll be sure to get at least 3.

@Black piggies I was wondering how much they smelled based on user experience. I'm going to have a hay tray, and a coroplast kitchen area for a hay bag/pellets/water bottles connected right next to each other.

I was also concerned about odor irritants, so I figured that anything I got would be placed on the mantle above the fireplace, or over by the basement entryway. In another thread by making, Making a Sturdy Cage Lid?, I posted a rough sketch of the entryway to the basement if you'd like a reference. Below are the #1 and #2 "scent things" I was considering. The Moso would be somewhat near the cage, and the Fresh Wave would be over by the stairs to the basement, which is about 30+ feet away.

Fresh Wave: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079XYSDN...olid=1A8XR60L34K2Q&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it

Anything that gives off a smell - candles, air fresheners, Reed diffusers, deodorant sprays etc should not be in the same room as guinea pigs as it can cause breathing issues. Their noses and airways are so sensitive.

Yes you'd think the charcoal stuff would be fine. But maybe if they're used to other pets they'll be fine with the piggies once you have them.

@Black piggies I hope they'll warm up to them! I'd love to take the pigs upstairs for Floor Time. The house is so open and has hardwood floors that I could make a massive play area for them with relative ease, pig-proofed and all. I think they'll like them, personally, but my relatives are the type of "No we aren't getting a dog" grump people who then get a dog and completely dote on it. I think they're just nervous about the cats.

Good to know that the charcoal stuff should be okay! I may end up with getting two in which case. The reviews are pretty positive for them, and I like that they're natural and recyclable. @Piggies&buns What do you think about the Moso?

That’s Phoebe in the box which is one I got from the supermarket.
The current liner is a pet bed as the towel is being washed
