Taking Bonbon To The Vets Tomorrow

Well I've just got in from work, the first thing I always do is give the guinea pigs a check up, and give BonBon her meds. I'm pretty sure she's gained a lot over night, she's much plumper today. I couldn't recommend Beaphar Tummy Care highly enough, as although i'm still using Pro-c powder direct on the dry food, i'm also giving her this in a syringe, to make sure she's getting what she needs. Her droppings are perfect formed again, consistency and colour, size is better than it was too.
She seems happy in her new home in the pc room, and has just been running around the flat :)) What can I say, it's like her light has switched back on after all these months :D

@Chief Guinea Pig, She's out and about in the cage so much more than she has for months, she's constantly eating all the time, where as before I'd find her staring out of the house. Now she's back to being the first at the door at feeding time, she's been taking the tummy care really well too, she's starting to accept the syringe instead of me forcing her to. She's finished the Septrin, so not sure what I should do next really, maybe just continue with the tummy care by syringe and the pro-c on her food, both seem to be doing their job :)

Well that was good. I got the time right, but missed the appointment by two days. Thankfully she's doing well, so i'll monitor her for a few days and take her back if the weight starts to slip down again. I'll keep her on the probiotics and see. What a turnip :(

Well her weight is a little up and down, but hasn't been dropping below 890g and goes to 925, today it's 920g (weighed at Vets this morning). Tues she looked off colour, fluffed up and eyes watering, and reluctant to come out of the house at all, yet her appetite was good. Eyes checked today, and there is some irritation but no ulcers, so shes on Fucithalmic twice a day for a week.
I've seen her eyes like this a few times before, and wonder if her weight loss was connected to it. I'm still hoping her weight will eventually stabilise back over 950g. I've noticed there has been a change in the ranks, Tilly, the timid piggy, chased her out of the house (Tuesday) which has never happened before. Truffles on the other hand, who sometimes picks on Tilly, still respects BonBon as Boss, Tilly stays out of her way.

She really played the Vet today, he tried to give her the eye drops, she kept turning her head away at the last second, and then trying to climb up me. She then peed on me :)) She does seem more herself today, and has been attacking the nuggets (she loves her nuggets), I've been trying them on burgess nuggets mixed in with PAH and she seems to like them.

I just don't get it, her weight is so sporadic. She was 920g yesterday morning, but is now 850g again. I don't know if it was the stress of visiting the vet that's caused the weightloss, but she's otherwise healthy and eating ok, her droppings and weeing are normal. Could depression be the cause? Some days she's active and joining in, others she just sits and watches the world go by in the house.
She seems to be sulking about the vet visit, Liquorice used to be the same, hated going, made me pay for it for a day or two after. :(

It could be that but if her weight doesn't go back up in the next day or so then I think there is more to it. Are you syringe feeding?

We took in a couple of fish in a biorb yesterday, and i'm thinking she's not keen on the noise of the pump. This morning she wouldn't even look at a piece of lettuce, but I know her pretty well. She's always been the one to chirp and go into trances, so her not eating was connected to that. When she came out of her stressed state this morning, her eating improved straight away. She had a good cuddle and even scrambled up my jumper which is something she never does, and a bit of floor time away from the offending fish bowl to which her behaviour was normal, she gurgled to herself as she pushed pillows over and explored her favourite places. She was back up and running, stuffing her face and wanting to interact.
Seems a bit of reassurance and a cuddle was what she needed :) Going to repeat a few times today with her favourite food and see how she goes.

Aww she really loves her mum.

Something happened yesterday that i've never seen BonBon do before, she was snuggled up next to Truffles in the plastic house in the outside run, with her head across Truffles back. Now that was a first.
She seems to have maintained, though we did feed her earlier last night.
