Shirii
New Born Pup
Hi, Kuro, my male 3,5 years old guinea pig is having problems with eating since the end of April. First, we went to a local vet, that gave us an antibiotic because she thought that he had some bacteria in intestines. After a few days or so he started eating again, but it lasted just for a few weeks because unfortunately, the same symptoms returned in even worst way. He wasn't eating, drinking, moving, yawning or talking at all. He was just sleeping all day. I took him to vet on 31. of May in a different city, the vet here said that his back tooths were overgrown quite a lot so they trimmed them, but more than a week after that he is eating just the middle of the cucumber and banana. So he is alive just thanks to RodiCare that I'm feeding him with. His front teeth seem to be fine. But always when I'm trying to put some hay in the back of his mouth, he will just throw it back (looks like vomiting to me) the same way it went in, he is not biting with those back ones at all. He is not losing weight (he used to have more than 1kg. now he has 710-20g for 2 weeks) and is quite active but if he won't start eating than his teeth will start growing too much again and I don't want to put him through that hell again.
If you know about some way to make him eat again I would appreciate your advice, because if he won't start eating till the end of the month I'm thinking about letting him put in narcotics, I don't want him to suffer more than he has to.
