The Beastie Boys

I have been sleeping later than usual due to a medication change and hubby is getting up earlier for the same reason. Every day I tell myself that I will make my coffee before I sort the boys out but (of course) that never happens. Today hubby was up first again. He complained that he doesn't get to make his tea before slave duty. I responded by saying I didn't hear them nagging him. He said they don't need to, they just stare hopefully.....
I'm glad it's not just me who feels judged!

Yes, they are amazing boys. Mine are brats.

Boris is actually a little lighter in color than I thought he would be.

I don't know if the camera picked up just how much his fur gleams. In real life it's absolutely astonishing, and so ultra soft.

I thought I could see him shining a bit in the zoom! Agree with the others he’s paler than I thought too

Sir George is such a cuddly boy, it’s amazing how relaxed he gets with you 😍 he must trust you very much

Yesterday and today the boys shared laptime. Yesterday Master Boris gave Sir George a nose punch, Sir George reacted by washing his face then splooting. Master Boris then relaxed too. Today they both had a nap with foot/feet out and full sploot mode. Master Boris had a little teeth chatter but settled when Sir George nuzzled his ear.
It's looking promising, as soon as I've got the energy we'll try a bonding. We're letting it run it's course this time even if it doesn't work.

All the best! It looks very promising. :tu:

Sir George is so gentle and patient despite being the dominant. The original separation was actually more for his benefit as Master Boris was making him miserable by being relentlessly aggressive but not in a challenging way. Master Boris seems to have matured now and accepted that "the big guy" is friendly.

At lap time yesterday Sir George was having a lovely snooze on me with both feetsies out. Master Boris decided he'd had enough of hubby and climbed on to me. Obviously His Lordship woke with a start but other than tucking his feet in he didn't react. They were face to face for a minute, had a little chat then ignored each other. I love seeing them together and I'm always so impressed with Sir George as he really seems to know that he needs to not do anything to spook Master Boris.
Earlier today though, Master Boris was asleep by the divider and Sir George gave his ear a lick. He jumped up with a squeak and shot across the cage. Sir George watched, then he was popping around and I swear it looked like he was laughing!

Master Boris AKA Houdini......
At veggie time my boys have different styles. Sir George picks out his favourite bits, munches slowly (for a guinea pig) then ambles off for a hay munch followed by a nap. Once refreshed, he returns and finishes off in a fairly leisurely manner. Master Boris is like a whirling dervish as he piles in and eats until he collapses into a food coma.
I went into the kitchen last night and was absolutely shocked. Master Boris was munching away on Sir Georges lettuce, on the wrong side of the divider! I waited a few minutes to see what would happen as Sir George was right next to him popcorning. When he finished munching they started a rumble off but Master Boris went straight into extreme teeth chattering so I took him out and let him snuggle me until he calmed down.
I have no idea how he got to the other side but we moved the top grids that hold his hammock to the divider and put his carrot cottage downstairs.
I feel like Sir George wants to be together again but Master Boris still needs more time?

Oh no, I'm glad that you were there to de-escalate the situation. I hope you've fixed the divider. It does sound like Boris needs more time. It's so sad when you know they'd be much happier together if they could just accept each other. I had the same with my boys.

Sneaky Master Boris! Hopefully with time he’ll continue to settle down and they’ll have a chance to go back together. Sir George is on board by the sounds of it. Glad they enjoyed their veggies, even if they weren’t meant to have them together!
