The Pigglingtons

Sounds like everypig had a great time, and a lot of organised chaos! 🥰
Glad all went mostly well, apart from Parker learning how to escape.

Our boys love a semi permanent floor pen- most evenings. We leave it up until I decide it needs a clean, or we have visitors.
I'd love to do that and have done in the past when I had less piggies but to get them all together is 4 extra pens, 5 if Freddie and Rolo join in. To go from one end of the room to the other you have to step in the pens. I am considering putting Fizz and Fuzz on the floor and taking their stand apart. I really like and need the storage underneath though. This would mean one less pen, they would still get 'entertained'. That way I think I could get my puzzle table up as well. I would be able to make a puzzle while I'm supervising. I'm away next week so will make a decision when I get back.

Absolutely devastated to have to be typing this but Duck died sometime in the night. I knew he was going yesterday when he went very quiet and wasn't coming out of his box, he just huddled in the hay all afternoon. He was fine at 7am when he had cucumber and pellets, he was begging at the front of the cage as always. At 10.30 am he wouldn't have his Metacam in the cage like he always does, I had to lift him out. He didn't want his strip of lettuce then either, he refused syringe feed so I didn't push it. I made him as comfy in his box as I could with a snuggle safe. He was very calm and quiet and didn't seem to be in any pain. He was still just with us at midnight when I checked him. I checked him again around 2.30 am and he had gone.
It's such a shock, he had got over his operation so well and was his usual bright bubbly self.
I've been so grateful to Little Wheekers letting us have him as a divider companion for Bertie when they both seemed to be impossible to bond with anyone. Bertie was lying at the divider when I found Duck, he's missing his friend today.

So gutted for you. I’m really so sorry. He was a lovely boy and clearly very happy with you. Take care as you grieve.

We have another chirper! Someone has been chirping all evening. I have been creeping into the room to try and catch whoever it is and he stops before I got a chance to catch him. I've caught him at last, it's Parker. My partner has been checking the boiler, he thought it was making funny noises. We really need to communicate more!
