The words you don't want to hear when a boarder checks in.......

Pig nap her! Tell her she died in the night snd you disposed of her. Do it do it do it !!

Can't you just tell her outright that you've fallen in love with Maisie and can see she's lonely, would she please consider letting you have her ( maybe you could offer to refund these last boarding fees if she says yes) so that you can find her a friend ( as you don't mind having more ) who can hopefully encourage her to eat.

I'm a little confused Tracey - It does seem odd that someone who is knowingly neglecting thier animals would then go to the bother of paying you to board them, is the issue ignorance?

Yeah, like I said earlier, the owner is a really nice, warm and friendly person, she's the kind of person you feel like you've known for years, it doesn't make sense. She also seems to love both the bunny and Maisie, is desperate for updates while she's away (her last message ended in "give them both a cuddle from me"). I really do think it's just that they're not noticed and enjoyed, that they're way down the list of priorities.

Pignapping is a no for many reasons

Agreed, not a wise move really! Plus, I'm a terrible lyer, I'd give the game away in a split second!

I think you should go direct to the owner and state that the animals are underweight and that she needs to feed them more, obvoiusly this is a risky strategy as she may then just not board with you in the future but at least you have made sure that she is aware there is a problem.

I think you might be right.....sad as it is. It's not the business I'd be sorry to lose, we're busy as busy can be, but I'd be devastated if the owner took the both of them elsewhere. :(

That's not nice. She's so skinny. She needs some TLC and not just on holidays. I think maybe after all's said and done just ask her if you can keep her as part of your herd?! Maybe she might find that it's easier for her to accept that way.?

I'm starting to come round to this point of view, to be honest, Rach....it seems the most sensible, diplomatic and the best all-round solution for Maisie.

Have you tried her with anyone else for floortime as a sneaky trial?

Not yet, although she did have some floor time while I was cleaning out her cage this morning, and she zoomed straight over to be near to my own piggies, who were very interested in this lovely little blonde bombshell who'd come to say hello......Popsy seemed to take to her, but Popsy's a sweet little girl and I think she'd take her under her wing. To be honest, I'm afraid of any injury should I try a bit of sneaky floortime with one of my own piggies!

The only other option is to confront the owner about her weight and see if she takes it on board.... Not much fun mind you. When's she due to go home?

No, not much fun, and I hate confrontation :{ although I don't shy away from it when the need arises. I'd rather keep the owner on side, as I think I can be some help that way. They go home next Sunday evening.

Tried that last time.....no joy.....I also suggested that the owner might consider getting Maisie a friend......no joy......:(

Hugs to you, maisie and Bunny. It's a hard situation.

I'm sure your girls would look after her really wellrolleyes

Very difficult.....but, til i decide what to do, Maisie and bunny will get plenty of grub, love and cuddles (nose rubs in the case of the bunny)!
