Hello,
Me and my family for a long time have looked into fostering we know it is a lot of work but we think it is very rewarding.
If anyone has any places that are looking for foster parents or has tips on fostering please let me know thanks. Currently we have 3 healthy happy Guinea pigs and a number of runs and cages all of good sizes. Any help would be great thank you.

Not something I’ve done, but it is certainly a lovely thing to do!
It would presumably be best for you to contact local rescue centres and ask what their procedures are for starting fostering. My guess is there will be home checks etc to be done

Thank you! We have been in contact but most local places are only adopting places, and I’ve only just adopted a piggy but thank you .

Both @VickiA and @pig in the city foster. May be they will be able to give you some advise when they see this.

I personally think it’s very rewarding but can also be heartbreaking as some piggies come from some rough backgrounds. You must also be prepared for the heartache of giving them back to the rescue when a suitable home becomes available which is something I definitely couldn’t do.

Would you also be prepared to take on pregnant and poorly piggies that need extra support? Just a few things to consider

Thank you that is very helpful I am well aware that it is hard to say good bye to the piggies once you have been with them but my family do feel prepared to do this for the piggies. Yes we would be able to take on any piggies that may be more ill than others or even pregnant , to us we will have the guinea pigs interested at heart so if a pregnant or ill piggie came into our care we would be more than happy to take care of them until there forever home came along. Thank you for the advise/tips it was greatly appreciated.

Hello
We are new on and my family of piggies are looking into Guinea pig fostering and we wanted to help as many piggies as we can. Do you know any places that are looking for any foster parents? And do you have any new tips at beginning the foster parent journey hopefully?

Best thing to do would be to look for Rescues in your area and give them a ring. Then find out what they require from you as a fosterer. There is a Recommended Rescue link in the green bar
Good luck!
