Some would say not, but I know I wouldn't want to be outside at night when it is frosty.:(

I know just been thinking I could put them out in the day n bring them back in on a night untill it gets warmer nights but I'm unsure yet

My piggies are outdoors and have been all through the winter. I brought them in last winter as temperatures were ridiculous. This year however, I kept them out as it has been relatively mild with just the odd really cold night. My piggies have snugglesafe heat pads, lots of hay, fleeces and cuddly beds etc. Their hutch is also insulated and they have a thick fleece blanket pulled over the front of the hutch at night to keep the cold out as well as a wind and rain protecter.

HOWEVER, my pigs are used to it. I feel that it is too soon for your pigs to be put outdoors this early especially if they have always been indoors. Please do not put them out in the day and bring them in at night as piggies do not cope well with temperature fluctuations. My girls come indoors for a run around but the room they play in doesn't have the heating on so there isn't much difference.

agreed.
mine are the same but have been outside since i got them at 10 weeks old so they are use to it now, they have snuggle heat pads, hay, fleece covering their bed and inside their bed fleece snuggle sacks, carpet over hutch covering front so no wind and rain can get in, its very cosy in there n when i do bring them in during day my house is proberlay colder as i am very tight with the heating :)) i wouldnt bring them in to a heated house

i find them in the downstairs run in their hutch munchin away n playin when its pretty cold out so they cant be that bothered by it.

I have brought the hutch in my kitchen where it's cooler than my front room and put them in thier new home
hopefully this will help them get used to it being colder than my boiling front room and hopefully help them eventually move to te garden when it's warmer

All eight of mine are in hubby's office ( heheee!) just for the winter, it's not so much the cold I'm bothered about I think the damp is the harm. I do however have two runs and pop them in there every other day when I clean them out just for a couple of hours and only if it is dry. I put an old beach towel on the grass because of the damp and pop their fleece pigloo on top so they have a warm retreat but they love it and popcorn around like mad when its clean out day! :-) always indoors by 3 o clock tho warm and snug and dry :-)

I do not think it is a good idea to put a piggy out thats uses to roomtemperature. If a piggy can be outside during winter it should be done properly eg. put the piggy out in a season as warm as indoors (not in direct sunlight though) and let them get used with the seasons to colder temperature. The piggy will get a shock if outside now and used to indoors.

the pigs are not outdoors now as as stated above they are now in my kitchen which is a cooler room to my living room
and as stated wont be going out untill its warmer
i had decided all this in a couple or posts above if * had read that....
i would never do anything to harm any of my animals
which is why i was asking the advice of others

It appears you took offence by my advise... Sorry if so.. Won't mind again but thanks for letting me know. I never once insinuated that you would do anything to harm your pigs so don't know where you got that from really.
