Poor piggle, keeping my fingers crossed the septrin works it's magic for your girl! Lots of love and wheeks to Treacle and you both from my piggie crew and I xx

How was she this morning? Still her usual lovely, cheeky self? x

She was bright this morning. No blood, still squeaky though. She ran off with the Septrin syringe then Cookie ran off after her and stole it from her and hid in the sticks with it, so normal service has been resumed.... rolleyes

I have this wonderful image of your girls running around the cage with the syringe in their mouths, accompanied by this music: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1D5Sa2Yq-2g

Bless her, she is gorgeous. Glad normal service has been resumed and she's ok in herself. Hopefully it will clear up quickly. It can be difficult to clear up sometimes. Bob had recurring UTIs so he ended up being on Septrin for 3 weeks to get rid of it, did the trick. (we'd xrayed to check there were no stones after it had come back a couple of times)

Oh blimey - have only just seen this as been so busy :(
Flippin bladders eh, hope Treacy responds well to the Septrin and sending hugs to all x

She's hopefully feeling a bit better if she's up to being cheeky like this :)

We avoid it because Cookie is diabetic, also our vet is exploring a link between a link between candida overgrowth and interstitial cystitis (which 2 of our girls have) suggested by a lady who runs a Guninea Pig clinic with a vet down south - So we are limiting sugery stuff.

just seen this thread, sorry its been a stressful time,Parsnips on his 2nd week of seprin for his uti and he has a bladder stone so it's been rather stressful here, he's a right messy one for dribbling seprin but Melvin is more than happy to clean him up when it's seprin dribbles!

i bet that's a certain lady I know who runs the guinea clinic:) she's so guinea savvy - I wish I was nearer to her to take my gang.,

hope things go ok for Treacle

Ah I've only just seen this thread too.

Treacy is so gorgeous x) drool bless her little heart.

I hope the septrin helps her out and you can shift that uti :( they can be so stubborn :( poor baby.

How is Treacle doing? Are the drugs beginning to help yet? Come on Treacle.
(She is very gorgeous btw)

Treacle, no more blood. But she has lost weight still :( She seems well in herself though, a little quiet last night but she often is when on AB's. Am keeping eye on weight and will explore further if it continues....

Thank you all for your kind thoughts x x

I'm sure it's just a sign that she's feeling a bit 'off'. Jerry's weight dropped a little when the blood first came back, but he's started to put it back on again now. Is she eating OK?

Perhaps put some soggy nuggets in, a lot of pigs seem to love this idea as a pick me up, and I can help get some weight on.

After Wilma's reaction to a UTI I'll never underestimate what kind of effect it caan have, it took Wilma a wee while to perk up even with the abs I think it makes them a bit quieter, hopefully she'll be bright as rain once she finishes her course.

Thanks all x x

Treacle is still losing as of last night she is 1.165g, she normally is around the 1.225g if not a little higher (She is not over fed but is a big framed piggie, bless her) She was 1.190g last sunday, which I thought was odd but put it down to a wee... She is eating like a horse still. Dreading the weigh in tonight. Gonna book a vets visit towards end of week if she is still losing and squeaking. Just want to get her stable weight wise. Have been feeding her more than usual, much to both her and Crumbles delight.... Cookie has put on 30 grams last 2 days as it's impossible to feed one not the other :))

Unfortunately burgess nuggets make her bloat believe it or not! She is eating Wagg but she's never been a fan of dry food, she is nomming hay non stop and has got through half a bag of orchard grass last 2 days rolleyes They are gonna have to get a part time job to fund the hay bill :))

How is Wilma feeling at the moment? How's Fred today?

Think most piggies lose a few grammes when off colour, us hoomans feel a bit yukky so I wouldn't worry too much atm.
Sending healing vibes for Treacy from us all here and if there's anything we can do, give us a shout :)p
