Hi all
I have a piggy who we think is around 6/7. We’ve been treating her for heart failure for about 1.5 years now (furosemide and spirinolactone)
About two weeks ago she started to snuffle and was treated with enrocare, when we stopped the snuffle started again so we put her back on the enrocare.
Alongside this she’s had critical care, metacam, fibreplex and metaclopromide
At the end of last week she was very withdrawn with bad poops. She perked up a bit recently and is eating/drinking some on her own but still quite withdrawn (not as much compared to last week)
She was meant to stop enrocare tomorrow but she started to snuffle again today - it’s a crackly noise that sounds like it’s coming from her nose. Do I continue on enrocare? Is there any other drugs for pneumonia? (The vets aren’t very cavy savvy which is why I’m asking)
X-rays and bacteria cultures are being avoided for now as she’s fragile and the vet is unhappy about sedating her
Is there anything else we can do? I’m thinking about making the big decision for her but I want to give her every chance before I have to say goodbye
Thanks for reading all this!
