Can you take a cab? I always think of that as a part of the vet-bill. We do have a closer and very good exotic vet, but after all these years and toofies "we know" the staff on the other clinic.

We took a cab in summer during the heatwave, but it's a long way and expensive. It was really nice and stress free journey. If I could get a return for the price of a consultation, it would break even. But Truffle doesn't seem to be sick. Not sure if the vet would see both piggies at once though. Hopefully we won't need to 🙏
 
As someone who also relies on public transport, good luck with that tomorrow. I did occasionally take the taxi to the vet's but it was pricey and will be much more so where you are. I occasionally also transported them by cargo bike, wouldn't recommend that in winter / when you've never ridden one before / in a big city.

He has been sneezing more often and more mostly. He seems OK otherwise though, no croaking or wheezing, mucous or crusty eyes. He's very responsive to cucumber and wheeking vigorously. He stamps around his cage early in the morning and eats well. I can't hear any problems. But I am watching out for signs of infection 🤞🏥
 
The vet didn't mention chunky 🙂✔️
He said that Polo's circulation looks good as his eye lids have a nice pink colour where you can see them pulling them back. His chest sounds good and his pulse and breathing rate are OK. Without looking at the video, you wouldn't know anything was wrong. He has two weeks of twice daily Doxycycline and Metacam and nebuliser sessions preferably twice a day with F10. He was very cute. While the vet was examining him, he stood and lifted one paw and looked at me. Looking back, I think he was trying to pluck up the courage to beg to ask me to put him back in his cage 🥹 but he didn't manage it. That would have impressed the med students 🤗 We went on the public transport which was delayed at one station unexpectedly. Maybe something very sad like self harm, I don't know. I hope not. It was easy to reroute though and take a different line, so it didn't make us late, but I will leave a little earlier next time. We had an umbrella, some cucumber, two small bags of hay, a bottle with a bit of water, a small drinker and sandwiches which I forgot about 🎒 It blew a gale at one stage, which I usually enjoy, but it was a bit awkward carrying piggy. But then it settled down and we got around OK ❤️ I need to take Polo back in the first week of February for a check and to decide if he needs further doxy or imaging.
 
Polo is looking quite lively right now. We did the nebuliser with F10 and he did several coughs at one point. He isn't making croaking or whining breathing sounds now and I'm hoping that the nebuliser has loosened up anything that was making his breathing sound strained ❤
 
Meds time coming up. A day of no wheezing and good energy and appetite. I tried putting Pro C powder in a second water bottle but Polo ignored both bottles all day. I took away the Pro C bottle and cleaned his regular bottle, and he had a drink not long after that.

Have you tried sprinkling a bit of Pro C on cucumber? That’s how I have served it in the past.

I hope Polo continues to improve.

Meds done, time in nebuliser done. I was talking to Polo about various things while he was stretched out snoozing. I stopped and said, you're not listening! He opened his eyes and lifted his head, what's that? I wonder where he learned that phrase 🤔
