Truffle and Polo

Polo contemplating the cruel vagaries of this world 💉 MS squirted the first dose onto her trousers 🙁 The second went in due to Polo biting the syringe. I wish doxy wasn't so unpleasant tasting 😐

Polo chews on the Metacam syringe, but he gives the doxy syringe a good mauling 🙁 He doesn't seem to be after my fingers though 🤞
 
Nebulised and metacamed ✔️ ✔️ but... MS got a drop of doxy on her trousers. I think the dose got divided between Polo's chin, MS trousers and Polo's mouth 🙁
 
Groggy MS had to do the doxy a second time this morning. Polo had a smear of it on his chops and he cleaned it off with his paw. He looks rather sad after our doxy sessions, but did chow down happily on some coriander and cucumber. Truffle wiped his butt on the clean woodshavings and then kicked the scent marked woodshavings across the cage and onto the carpet and everywhere 🥰
 
It's just that moment between getting the syringe nozzle right into piggy's mouth and squeezing the plunger 💉💦🤨

It is making a difference. He hasn't made any of the croaking or whining breathing sounds since about Friday. Once back on the doxy they disappeared very quickly. This evening I gave him a small top up as at the crucial moment he batted away the syringe and a drop flew through the air. I don't think he got a full dose. I will wrap him up tomorrow to try to prevent more deft swats. He is getting better and better at avoiding doxy doses 🙁
 
So today, this means war 🙂 So MS loaded up the Metacam and squirt 🙂 happy piggy ❤️ Then the cunning and devious tricksteress drew up doxy into the syringe followed immediately by some sugar solution and wiped the nozzle carefully. Then dipped the syringe in the sugar solution and then into the Metacam. Piggy glugged down the pleasant tasting concoction and the doxy? Well it went down too 🥰🤩🥳🎊🍾🎂🎇 However the course of antibx is not yet over and I'm sure Polo is thinking carefully about this strange sugar tasting potion 🤨
 
So MS concocted the same potion to disguise the doxy dose and it worked nicely. I just held the syringe out to Polo and he glugged it down straight away. He didn't seem to notice the doxy or be worried about it. I would like to avoid the big dose of sugar twice a day, and hope to use less sugar water in due course.
 
It is nice to avoid the wrestling and the worried piggy ❤
 
Meds taken like a dream, even groggy MS couldn't fumble this 🥰💉 Piggy content and calm ✔️ The only thing, he had a coughing session yesterday evening, but it resolved with a big cough quite quickly and no mucous sound. I heard a tiny bit of wheeziness yesterday morning but no more since then.
 
Id he needs it can you prolong the ab without going to the vet?

I'm not sure. I have an appointment for Saturday. It's perplexing, the vet can't hear anything, which I suppose is good, but Polo's breathing deteriorates to where he has quite long episodes, some for a couple of hours, of whiny breathing that sound like asthma and must be uncomfortable. The other thing to consider is ultrasound or X ray, but both need anaesthetic to get good images. The coughing video I took is a relatively mild episode 🙁
 
Dosing meds has suddenly become much easier (touch wood). But Polo is having these wheezing attacks every day. At the moment he resolves them by giving a big cough. I am not sure where this is all going. I think once off the meds we may be in some trouble.
