I put on the air purifier and opened some windows and that may have helped a bit. But first thing this morning we did the meds. Hopefully if we keep having success getting the trimoxy down the awful wheezing will stop 🙏❤️

Thank you everyone 🥰 🐾🙏 It smells like banana bread 🍰 I need to find something I can use to disguise the flavour. I tried it on celery, which Polo will usually eat happily, but he looked at it in dismay 🙁 Today has been quiet though and he looks comfortable 😴

A basil leaf or a mint leaf ? They are quite strong scents
 
Polo and I had a co-trimoxy wrestling match this evening. The syringe is steadily losing its digits. I have to admit, I hope mine will be OK. Then I changed to the left side of Polo's mouth and the nozzle went in and he started to swallow so I squirted the antibx and it all went in 😌 Perhaps his eyesight isn't as good on that side. I'm sure he has learned not to drop his guard on the left though. I need to order more syringes. I will try a bit of pasteurised honey. I hate using very sweet stuff though. The sugar water did not work. I will try some herb infusion as well 🤞❤️
 
Polo hasn't wheezed since 2-4 am this morning. If he is quiet tonight, I'll know the antibx is working as he was wheezing hard until his dose at 6am. He has been sleeping a lot, but is eating. I need to weigh him to make sure his hay intake is OK. His poops are OK, touch wood 🙏

Really hope that its working for him, glad that he hasnt wheezed during the day. Lots of healing wheeks and luck from our end 🤗

Unfortunately neither of my piggies will even touch banana, to my dismay as it does seem to be the healthy go to temptation for so many piggies who need motivation. I'll try apple juice as he likes very ripe red apples 🍎
 
The co-trimoxy went down the hatch 🙂 I cleaned the nozzle of the syringe after drawing up the antibx and then drew up a bit of diluted Pro C into the start, then rolled the nozzle in Pro C powder. Then I put the nozzle in from the left and after a few tries, squoosh, in it went. Hopefully Polo will get to like Pro C. It's a lot healthier than sugar water ❤🙏🐾 He was quiet all night and this morning, but did make a few small croaky noises while eating fresh hay. The difference is remarkable ❤
 
A successful medication session 🙏🐾❤ Polo seems bright and cheerful. He and Truffle got to have a run around the room. MS is relieved. I think the rasping and whining at 3am might be over, at least for a little while. But we still don't know what lies ahead ❤

Yes, I don't sleep very well most of the time. The piggies are near my bed, but normally they are super quiet and only make the odd reassuring, and lovely rustle or hay munching sounds. However Polo's wheezing was awful, he sounded very uncomfortable and I felt for him. I did get back to sleep but it's a relief that he is breathing normally ❤️

Dear Truffle and Polo

Your Slave is trying to hijack Stripe and Chez's thread which is disgraceful in itself and so that I don't encourage this outrageous behaviour I'll reply on your thread.

Is your Slave trying to poison you with spongy cucumbers?!? I really hope not! I bet she wouldn't eat such a disgusting thing so why does she expect you to? I wouldn't put up with this laziness from your Slave. You really need to train her more to ensure that such an occurrence never happens again.

To do this you need to:-
  • Wheek as loud as possible whenever she walks past your cage to remind her that spongy cucumbers are not acceptable in any way shape or form.
  • When she is on the phone join in her conversation by wheeking loudly to remind her that spongy cucumbers are not acceptable in any way shape or form.
  • When she arrives back home and you hear the front door open wheek loudly to remind her that spongy cucumbers are not acceptable in any way shape or form.
  • When your Slave opens the fridge wheek loudly to remind her that spongy cucumbers are not acceptable in any way shape or form.

I hope that your Slave will finally get the message and go out and get you a nice fresh cucumber. Although you may need to do this several times as Slaves can be quite stupid.

I have been approaching from the left, gently pulling down his lip and putting the nozzle into the gap. He starts licking it and squish, in it goes. I hope we can get to the end of the course without missing any doses. He has been wheeze free and is eating and pooping well 🥰 MS has a cold, the snots 🤧 and has been dragging herself around 🙁

Thank you everyone ❤️🙏🐾 It's going away 🤧🤒 slowly. Another good dose of co-trimoxazole successfully delivered. I'm glad we weren't both wheezing and sneezing. The piggies have been nibbling cautiously on grapes. I don't think they have really eaten many grapes before ❤️
