Just when I think it's all doom and gloom and pigs coming in left, right and centre and I despair at some members of the human race, something always happens to restore my faith.
Last week, Teresa took 30 pigs from awful conditions, the poor things - 5 came to me and were very wobbly and malnourished but are now doing ok. Unfortunately 3 were already dead, and one has since died at Teresa's, despite all the care she received.
Then another 10 at the weekend... well looked after but unwanted, one of which gave birth to 4 on the night of arrival. I didn't have space for all of them, so took 8 to a lovely chap Allan, who rehomes, and he was so lovely and would do anything for the pigs, he really made me happy again and the pigs with him are all doing well and he sends me updates! His attitude when I rang him (in a bit of a state!) was simply 'bring them all here, we'll sort them out' - he's a life-saver!
Vikki's had several unwanted litters in and no space but was able to foster some out locally, with lots of offers of help.
Then today, getting upset about the 3 pigs still with Teresa who are in a really bad way, and worrying about my little lot - then had a lovely email from someone local offering to help however they can, with fostering etc. and very kind.
And some of the people that I've met since doing this have just been so lovely and kind and generous that it makes it all worthwhile - the people who offer homes to the pigs, and the other people I meet doing the same thing, like Ron. And of course Vikki, who's taught me everything I know! xx>>>
It's like the good stuff happens to make the see-saw balance with the bad stuff, if you know what I mean!
Anyway, sorry for rambling, just wanted to share!
