My 2 piggies, Penny and Luna, seem to be settling in brilliantly. Still a bit skittish, but other than that they seem fine.
Today when I gave them their veggies, I popped a strawberry in their cage too. They've also had some shredded beetroot (out of the asda salad bistro bags) over the past few days, and I also gave them some red pepper.
This evening when I went in to check on them, I noticed some red patches on their fleece. I looks like a strawberry red colour, and the first thing that came to mind was that they had bloody urine. I then realised that I gave them red coloured foods, and I read that beetroot and strawberries can turn their urine red.
I suppose what I'm asking is whether this is likely to be the cause? Then again, it could just be where they've eaten the strawberry, and dropped it on the fleece. I'll definately keep an eye on it though. If it seems like it is from their wee, I'll get them to the vets.
