Junior Guinea Pig
I know that you're supposed to feed 1 cup of veggies per pig per day, and I've read that a lot of forum members feed twice a day. Does this mean you feed 1/2 a cup per pig in the morning and the rest later on in the day? Currently my girls get one big meal in the morning and they pretty much inhale it, but if its better for them to be fed twice a day I can split it up. I'm also afraid that I'm not feeding them the right proportion of veggies. How much of that 1 cup should be leafy greens and how much should be other veggies? Daily between the two of them I feed a small handful of red and green leaf lettuce (mixed), red and green butter leaf lettuce (mixed), one leaf of escarole and some parsley, along with a couple of slices of green bell pepper, a couple of slices of yellow bell pepper (these slices are pretty thin), and a couple of baby carrots and then occasionally I throw in the extra treat like grapes or cherry tomatos. Am I feeding them too much leafy greens? I just want to make sure I'm doing everything right.
