Missed the start of this thread as I am holidaying this week. So glad to see Tracey & Toby are getting some help as as she was a little stressed out nursing such a poorly boy when I dropped my boys off with her on Monday.

I have met Toby a number of times when dropping off or picking up the lads and usually he is a happy, wheeky pig that loves fuss. I hope I see him again, back to his usual self with his gorgeous hair and full of beans.

Well done Debbie & Simon for taking on his care and paws crossed for you Toby, keep on fighting lovely boy. xx

Toby is currently tucking into some finely chopped Babyleaf Rocket Salad. He already looks a completely different piggy from the one who arrived yesterday.

Amazing! I'm chuffed to bits how quickly he seems to have perked up. Simon really is a miracle worker, and Debbie, you're a star!

My goodness what an amazing story! Brought a tear to my eye. Thank you so much all of you for such an amazing result. X

wow, amazing, so glad he got to traceys and then to simons, when he did. What a lovely boy, I believe he has every chance now xx

The key to success is moving quick when dealing with these little guys. We have had fantastic results with some very poorly guinea pigs, but the sooner we see them the better. Sadly I have had a few come too late recently, and it is heartbreaking to know we may have been able to save them if we had seen them sooner.

It's great to see that your dedication helps to save these poor piggies. It's a shame there's not more people like you & Simon who can make a big difference to a sick piggy. Keep the good work up.

Yes there is a definate need for more vets like Simon, I have emailed my own vet with a link to Simon's website, the more information that can be obtained from experienced vets like Simon has to be positive news for our little Furry friends, and if you have a vet that is willing to listen to advice from experience that is great.

Keep up your great work that you are doing Debbie you are a guinea pig guardian angel.

He's an absolute stunner!
Well done to all of you that has helped the poor guy you all deserve a very big medal :)

So remind us what weight he was when he came in. He is looking alot perkier in himself, you can tell from the photos.

Teejay said that when Toby arrived with her, he was 530g. That's such a wonderful improvement!

When he first came to me -Wed 30.10.13 - he weighed in at 530g.....he went up to 550g with round the clock hand-feeding, then he seemed to drop off a bit, back to 530g-ish. That was probably down to him having only just started treatment for coccidiosis, and having truly awful teeth :-)

I think Debbie weighed him at 530g when he arrived at hers on Thursday of last week.

Yes he weighed in at 530g when he arrived here on Thursday. I would love to get him up to 700g before he sees Simon on Wednesday. Come on Tobes we can do it! He's been tucking into some grass today. Just off to Tesco to get a selection of veggies for him to try. xx

Aww thanks for the constant update on his progress, does he realise he has a fan club now.:))

Sorry there has been no update today, but have spent most of the day back and forth to the vets. Wiebke's piggy, Ceri, who is boarding with me saw Simon today as she had been losing a lot of weight recently. She had the most HUGE bladder stone which has been removed and I am now on nursing duty for Ceri as well as Toby Both are doing really well so far! This is all in addition to looking after my grandson too! Feeling rather knackered!
