VERY URGENT: Stopped Eating

If Critical Care is not available guinea pig feed pellets can be mixed with water and blended.

I think it's quite dangerous to advise people to give their guinea pig something that is, in effect, a strong laxative when they don't know what the problem is. The last thing an anorexic pig needs is chronic diarrhoea and a combination of charcoal and pineapple juice (not to mention the grass) is liable to do just that. Bear in mind that many people who read this are young and/or first time owners and I'd hate to think that someone would see the above post and think this was a good thing to do if their pet isn't eating.

Sorry to hear about your dog, Char.

I fed our guinea pigs grass since the beginning. We cut fresh one in the park for them, even from under the snow: they love it so much. I've read medical research documents recently: grass juice keeps pig's stomach healthy, they live considerably longer and have less problems with stomach ulcers and gasses - this is based on years of research. I wouldn't give grass to pigs as is though, because foxes and dogs can go there: we wash and tumble-dry it in a salad drier first, especially shouldn't be given when it's wet after the rain - you never know what's coming from above these days :)
Also, spikes and heads aren't good it said on a number of websites.

Do you by any chance know a vet that's done their doctorate degree specialising in guinea pigs? (except Vedra at CCT, I've tried to contact them for a while, maybe she will respond later) I really need someone who is a Guinea pig Doctor (not just a vet, there's the whole London of them). Any tried and tested contact details would be much appreciated.
