I would start syringing her critical care or vegetable baby food to get the nutrients into her. To me, I think the fur loss looks more like stress as it doesn't look scaley or red/sore, just like the hair follicles have snapped and the hair has come away. I know that some people don't agree with using vaseline but I when my sow lost her fur through illnesss, I put some on the bald patches to protect the skin from urin scald and irratation. This might protect the bare skin until you can get her to a vet. Try and keep her as warm as possible as she doesn't have mum to snuggle up to - maybe vet bed, fleece or something like that. Hope this helps and please keep us updated. I keep my fingers crossed for the poor little thing xx

I bought a young pig from a well respected breeder, and I later (in the day) discovered she had a couple of bald patches just like that. She was also long haired. I was told that it was probably caused from heat stress (too many piggies huddling in their house at the same time) I washed her and kept her separate from my other pigs, and sure enough it grew back. The breeder was happy to take her back, but I decided to take the risk, and it was worth it she has turned out to be a super piggie.

Try not to panic too much, it is probably looks worse to you than it is. Just give her plenty of food and hay, and perhaps supplement with some bread & milk (some people I know use complain or condensed milk very successfully)and I'm sure it will work wonders

I went to the vets there they could squeeze me in tonight they said she was malnurished and that she had to go back with her mum. I told the breeder this. She was only four weeks old so I took her back it broke my heart8...8... but guys I wish I had a pic of how tiny she actually was and she wasn't eating or anything with me. She's back with her mum now

I'm sorry you had to take her back. You know deep down that you did the right thing by taking her back. Maybe you could have her back when she is old enough to be weaned from mum?

Aww sorry to hear that Kerry. She is still very small for 4 weeks. Eccles was my tiniest pig and he weighed 250g at 3 weeks (I suspect he was only 2 weeks) but still he was diddy and still is. I suspect your little girl was the runt of the litter.

Hope you are ok. x
