You will be so relieved at 3pm, the waiting and not knowing is by far the worst bit. If I had it my way I would be in the surgery with them, keeping a close eye on things!

Thanks everyone, the vet called me a little while ago, she said its all gone fine and he's just coming round from the anaesthetic and i can call back in an hour or so to see when he can come home x) x)
phew.... now i can relax

He's home now! yay! eating and drinking and giving me the evil looks
His stitches look quite horrific, theres a bit of blood.
He's quite sleepy, but managed some lettuce
He's gotta go back on wed for a check up.
£160! but he's definitely worth it

He's pulled out his stitches! he's got a big hole.
going back to the vets at 11am. I guess this means more anaesthetic? It's too gaping to glue 8...

What did the vet decide to do? Is there a guinea pig equivalent of those cones they put around dogs heads after operations to stop them biting stiches?

they have them for rabbits, but i don't think they'd work for guineas, as i'm sure i've noticed a distinct lack of neck

well, they've stapled the wound for now, >>> it was horrible.
But he's pulled one of the staples out already mallethead.
i've tried making him a little t shirt but it keeps coming off, i've used the sleeve from josh's old tshirt, and i used one of the legs from my fishnet tights...:red
The vet seems to have no solution either. any suggestions?
