Hi,

I thought I'd make a thread dedicated to my trio 🥰

I took these photos this morning while I was spot cleaning and the piggies had some floor time. Oscar decided there's no point waiting to get back in his cage to eat hay, he'll just get IN the hay bag to save time 🤣 He is the only one who does this!Resized_20210712_074148.webpResized_20210712_074147.webp

He is so handsome! Beautiful eyes, mum would call him an "adorable little demon"

I should introduce them properly 🥰. They all live together in a 2x6 C&C cage with fleece.

Violet (along with her late mother Rosie) was my first guinea pig. We adopted her in November 2013 from the Queensland Guinea Pig Refuge along with her mother when she was only 5 weeks old. Rosie (Violet's mother) was rescued pregnant from a free range situation and was always very shy and skittish because of it. She is currently 7 years and 8 months old (she'll be 8 in October). She has never been a very dominant piggy and has a very gentle nature. She loves her pats and cuddles. She is an English Crested and agouti of some sort with an orange stripe down her back. She unfortunately, has many health problems (arthritis, kidney failure, bone cancer), but maintains a surprising zest for life ❤️.

Daisy was adopted in November 2017 after Rosie's passing. She was about 5/6 weeks old at the time. She is currently 3 years and 8 months old (she'll be 4 in October). She, on the other hand, is extremely dominant and full of energy for her age. It took 3 failed "dates" (including a neutered male and two females) at rescues before we found the perfect match for the girls with Oscar. She loves her chin rubs and cuddles, but is a total drama queen when it comes to picking her up or cutting her nails 😂.

Oscar was adopted only recently in May 2021. He is also 3 years and 8 months old (we suspect he's slightly younger than Daisy). He was rescued from a free range situation in 2018: his owners had previously kept him in a tiny bird cage but then released him into the yard and was eating the veggies in their garden. He was fortunately rescued. It's sad he spent so much time at the rescue without finding a home (not sure why, he's such a sweet boy), but I'm glad we got the chance to welcome him into our home ❤️. He is a very sweet boy and loves his pats. He is a bit skittish, but has since become calmer after much patience. He loves his cage and runs around doing their happy little squeaks all the time.

Oh my. Those three have certainly found an amazing home. Wishing much health for little Violet! Such a gorgeous little group

I thought I'd share some photos from the bonding of Oscar to my girls Violet and Daisy at the Gold Coast Guinea Pig Rescue in May 2021. They got along very well and now live together harmoniously (apart from Oscar and Daisy's rumble-strutting battles, involving chasing and popcorning 😂)

P.S. Oscar looks wet because he got mite and lice treatment before we could take him home.

The cage is looking empty without Violet 😞 I'm so used to seeing three piggies in the cage.
We are taking Daisy and Oscar to a rescue soon for some dating - hopefully we will come home with a new female friend.

I got some cute photos of Daisy chewing her favourite toy and her yawning in the cuddle sack 🥰

It's been a while since I've posted in my own thread - whoops!

Daisy yesterday morning, sleeping out in the open 🥰

And that night, a very much failed picture 😂 Daisy was sleeping with her head resting against the cuddle cup, while Poppet was laying down with he head out right next to Daisy from in the cuddle cup. Of course, as soon as I got my phone out to take a photo, they moved!
