..... and therefore need to rehome our girls.

God knows in the middle of this crisis how i'm gonna find a home for my girls that will have them

1. loved and enjoyed
2. indoors,
3. ship them oxbow pellets,
4. feed them unlimited hay
5. make sure they get their balanced twice a day veggies

I'm so stressed out about this and this is only the start of leaving the country, I have to rehome my dog that I adore and adores me too, he is my shadow since I rescued him.

If my heart doesn't break now I don't know when it will. I can't stop crying at even the thought of it.

:... Can you not take them with you?

well it looks like we will go to Dubai, from what I have read they don't allow guinea pigs and our dog has an illness that they also won't allow in.

i can't leave them. 8...8...8... - doesn't even come close to how i feel.

i would pay for them to come to good homes in England though......... if there is anyone out there who would like to discuss it.

oh no, Tracey i am so sorry, poor Chocco and poor piggies and poor you.

I wish i could help but i have my two dogs and two pigs

:(

Why are you leaving?

my husband has had so far in the last year a 45% pay cut due to all the cuts here to save greece, I can't find a job and have applied for hundreds, we can't pay our mortgage or all our bills, we can't send our daughter to private school and the public ones are a joke. we don't have much choice but to leave this mess of a country even though we love our home, friends and sea view.

yes i'm starting early, it will be within the next 3-6 months. I have lots of time to find perfect, forever homes for my babies.

My husband doesn't get it really, hence posting on here with animal lovers that understand the heartbreak.

I understand him though, he will leave his country, family, parents etc....

awww fingers crossed love, i wonder if there is any kind of spaniel charity that would be willing to help?

Greece is struggling isnt it, i cant say i blame your hub x

i had already tried the spaniel charities at the beginning when I wasn't going to keep him and really had no luck.

This dog must NOT suffer again, he has the sweetest soul, my daughter has even picked him up by his ears and he cried with pain without even a single reaction from him, he is sweet, loving and just wants to be loved.

How heartbreaking this must be for you and your family. :( I know that in the midst of such an overwhelming situation it can be hard to keep a straight head about things, but it sounds like you are very thoughtfully making the best decisions you can for all concerned. Keep in mind the old adage:

Everything will be okay in the end, and if it's not okay, it's not the end.

Love and light,

~A~

i wonder does anyone know how I can send the piggles to england? is it even possible? i can research it but just off the bat, any ideas?

Do you know any journalists that might take up the story for you to see if there is anyone out there that would be able to help Chocco, rescue or personal?

Oh how heartbreaking! 8...
You could try shipping the piggies to the UK, although it would be very expensive...
(((big hugs)))

we will leave Greece

have you thought of sending the dog over her to a good rehoming dog rescue like 'Many Tears'

There are spaniel forums try 'Cockers on line' they will give you some help and advice thro rescue, these are all like minded people who all have and love spaniels......put your story on there you will probably get some very good suggestions.
I dont know much about Greece but it would be a shame to go to a bad home or worse on the streets.......
Even the piggies I am sure would find a home over here, i live in Scotland but would be willing to rehome them if they could be got too me and I am sure I am not the only one!

Do you live near a holiday area? If you do then put the word out via the internet and an animal lover might be able to take your pets back to the UK when they are on holiday.

thank you, I will look at this, there must be a spaniel forum too? you understand exactly my worries, especially for the dog to end up back on the streets and starving.
thank you so much for your offer about the piggles........

Do you have any good friends in greece that would take them and provide them with a good home? Just a thought xx

I have had 3 friends leave within the last 6 months, I have discussed this with the ones that remain and I don't have a single friend who isn't thinking about leaving here.......

actually we don't but this is still a good idea!

how wonderful you all are, I went from sobbing to feeling supported and being able to find a solution.

thank you.

does anyone know a website where I can research the details for sending animals to uk, I can't find one on google!mallethead

So sorry you are faced with this awful decision, my heart really goes out to you. www.defra.gov.uk may give some advice but it's unfortunately not loading at the moment...

I know this is a long shot and probably way off in the future but if you can manage to send them here I can help, I may not be able to keep them forever (depends on space at the mo) but I can certainly house them for some time and if need be rehome them to a great home (i would do it on here and be very thorough!)

Just an offer to consider as I can't begin to imagine how hard this must be for you :)
