My guinea pig teddy has had many small minor issues and this is another, he has some sort of fungus looking substance on his nose. I haven’t tried picking at it because I imagine that’s probably not going to do any good. I have attached a picture or two if anyone could help that would be great. Many thanks!

Sorry I can’t advise but wanted to offer support.
Piggies can worry us at times.

I work on the basis of going straight to the vet if I have any health concern

My past Piggie georgie had this, the vet did prescribe a cream and I used it for a while but left it in the end and it disappeared by itself. I think it's quite common on the nose area.

Do you have the name of the cream? Thanks!

Please have your piggy seen by a vet. We cannot diagnose or prescribe treatment, only a vet can do that

Pigs really commonly get a fungal spot there... often called fungal nose stripe. You can see your vet for a cream, though some clear up spontaneously and others don't respond that well to cream and recur or stay.

If your vet prescribes a cream that works can you repost the name? Leela has fungal nose stripe, but whatever the vet gave her didn't really make much difference. It tends to clear up in the summer and get worse again when the air is dry in the winter.

Our Toffee has a fungal nose strip. I’ve never bothered asking for something to get rid of it, and the vet never mentioned it when they were seen either 🤷🏾‍♀️ It’s up to you whether you take him to the vet though.

Meg has a fungal nose stripe. It comes and goes. The vet didn't seem too worried about it.

Hiya, just taken my pig to the vet. The vet said he didn’t know what it was but prescribed hibiscrub and we have to go back again in a week.
