:'( :'(
I'm so worried! I just don't know would've caused it or how or even when it happened!
I went to take new photos of him today and after about the third click I'd noticed the wound in his side as it was a little pink under his white fur. I immediately picked him up and checked it out. Sure enough he appears to have some kind of wound in his skin. It's not really deep, but I did put some anti-bacterial stuff on it to keep out infection. It has me worried though as to what could've caused it because I don't want it happening ever again..
He lives in a 2x3 C&C cage alone. He has a plastic litter pan that hooks to the edge of his pen. He has a bell in there with chewing wood. He has a metal pellet bowl that hangs on the wall (the only semi-sharp parts may be the things that keep it held to the cage, but they are secured and bent down so he couldn't have gotten access). He has a water bottle, but the thing that keeps it on is too high for his reach and faces down, doesn't seem to be out of place at all. He's bedded in pine, but it's really really fine, nothing sharp in there I'm sure as I run my hands through it and check before replacing my guineas.
We have a German Shepherd Dog, and yes, he is a bit playful but has never been able to reach the guineas. I have a wooden door and gate plus, the cages are always shut and nothing was out of order when I got home.
So, as you may see this leaves me quite puzzled. :embarassed:
Anyone have any ideas as to what could've caused it? :'(
