for the last couple of week I've been hearing this weird sound form one of my guinea pigs but it wasn't very long and only short so I just brushed it off as I've only had my guniea pig 2 weeks so I thought I was just a new sound but recently it's started getting louder. So the other day I took them down to pets at home vets and they did a really quick check up for both my guinea pigs (I have two bubbles and fluffles) although I knew bubbles was making the sound. The vet continued to put something to her throat (fluffles) and say she was the one making the sound. Which I think is stupid because it was ovious she was scared so her heart would be racing as expected?. So she then told us to change the bedding from the sawdust we had to a litter / bedding that was much more expensive. So we did that but they still continued to make the sound :/ we then decided to change the hay as it may be that. But still there making this sound. The closest I've got to what the sound is, is a cough or snoring as it appears to mostly happen at night :/ what do I do.?

Could be a URI, did the vet prescribe any antibiotics like baytril? If not I would seek a new vet who is piggy savvy. There's a great vet locator on the forum that could help :)

No but she did say if it Carrys on we can pick up some antibiotics but I'm a bit concerned about how to feed a guinea pig medicine? Thanks though

I would do it sooner rather than later as URIs can escalate quickly, it's better to get antibiotics in them early.

There are some great syringing guides in the Health and Illness section on here that will be able to help. It sounds daunting at first but it's not too hard at all once you get used to it :)

I know but the vet is saying it's the wrong guinea pig that's ill so Which one would I give the medicine to ?

Can you let us know whereabouts you are based we may be able to suggest a knowledgeable vet for you.

You would give the medicine to the vet they think is poorly. The vet can show you how to give medicine to a piggy, it is done with a syringe WITHOUT a needle and your syringe the liquid medicine in the mouth

I'd definitely go with whichever piggy the vet recommends, they'll have listened to their chests and may be able to hear something you can't :)
