White discharge from eye

My guinea pig is around 4 years old and hasn’t had any health issues so far! However today I noticed a white discharge around her eye which I’ve never seen before. I know guinea pigs can secrete white fluid for cleaning but not sure if this is it or not. She’s acting perfectly normal, eating, drinking and seems generally happy as usual. I’ve never had to take her to a vet before and would be more than happy to if needed but if anyone has any advice as I don’t want to cause unnecessary stress for her.

That does look like quite a lot of discharge. Did she clean it away herself? I would consider keeping a close eye on it and if it continues then have it checked out. Any changes to the appearance of the eye then take her in as soon as possible though.
