Thank you very much for your reply I was worried as I was just on his left eye at first and started off tiny on the right and seemed to spread. He doesn't seem to be in any pain with it either and the vet said its not infected or swollen this is the first time I've ever had a red eyed piggy and never seen anything like this before and I'm thinking your right right about the lack of pigment thank you for your helpMy Quinn has this on one eye. He also has red eyes. It has never caused pain or anything I think it is just lack of pigment.
This may sound a bit silly but what does that mean and is it common? XThis looks like a bit of calcium deposit. My little Pickle has a bit. If your worried though, I would get a vet to check the eye.

Thank you Very much for your help, the vets said they were unsure what it was which had me even more worried that they had never seen it before xIt's called osseous choristoma, it's reasonably common in Guinea pigs. It's like a boney deposit and does not cause any problems. I'm just looking for a link about it.

That's it! That's exactly what it looks like close up thank you so much I was so scared he would end up blind or something xIt's a calcium boney deposit within the eye and is sometimes associated with commercial diets. It's usually not a problem. If you wanted to then find a vet who has more experience in opthalmology. I most almost certainly have a couple of piggies with it and all of my little ones are seen by an opthalmology specialist once a year and they are never concerned by it. Have a read of these if you want...
