My boys are all 5 months old and all weigh around 1100g so I'm thinking they are all going to be big boy. This got me wondering who's has the biggest/heaviest piggy on the forum. Post your pictures with weights below and I will provide a little prize for the winner if this is ok with the mods?

Sounds like fun! I think my Maya could be a contender.
She's a big fat girl, but I don't know how much she weighs.

If you could weigh her and also post a picture of her on this thread that would be great.

Panda Pig once weighed in at 1580g. He's the tricolour. Pedro Pig's top weight was 1540g. Together they weigh more than my cat!

This was Puzzle, he was one of my first pigs and in his prime he weighed over 1600g:eek:

Puzzle is in the heaviest so far then. I will let this tread run for a few days and then I will send off a prize to the winner.

Celery could go into this one. Ill get her weighed and let you know!

HA! 1.6 kg? Mine are definitely not a contender here, not even if you put both of them together.. :bye:

My Gilbert used to be my heaviest at 1700. My heaviest now though is Ryou, my smooth coated guinea pig who has triple chins and weighs 1195. Funnier how he looks fatter than Gilbert did. I think because Gilbert was a fluffy Aby/ridgeback but being smooth you can really see it on Ryou. :))

Yep my Murray was 1650 g at one point not sure how much he is now tho, he has been on a bit of a cut back and new run so exercising more I'll have to weigh him , providing I could catch him

Wow what a whopper. Is Gilbert a rainbow bridge piggy? I think we need to set some rules for this competition. Should it be for living piggys only so they can enjoy their prize or should rainbow bridge piggys be included?

Aww he is gorgeous. Hope i didnt upset you with my last post. I didn't mean any offence by it. So sorry he's not still with us.

My celery isnt as big as some here... I do need to weigh her though, just for my own knowledge :)

I think the rules of the competition should be:
only living pigs included (but feel free to include picture of your rainbow bridge pigs but just state so underneath.)

We need to see a picture of the piggy. It doesn't need to be on the scales or anything, just a photo so we all get to look at nice piggy pictures.

I will let this run until Friday the 14th of November and then once we have a winner I will send off a Prize to their piggy.

Oh wow. None of my pigs have a chance in this! Mine all weigh somwhere between 850g and 1100g, they're all lightweights and quite small!

Perhaps there should be information on obesity in guinea pigs here too. I think it's fine if it's just physically large pigs being posted but it would be inappropriate for fat/overweight guineas to be seen as a good thing.

No I agree. But my vet said he was fine and nothing to worry about, and any help to people who need gladly given by any of our members I'm sur. I don't think it is intended to encourage obesity at all. We all love our piggies maybe too much x

Aww some cute piggies here, I will have to weigh Peter. He is a bigger boy (not to the extent of some of these piggies - he usually just over 1kg) but has developed a lot of fatty lumps so he's a bit heftier. He's still happy and comfortable though bless him

God no. That's wasn't my intention at all. I don't want to promote obesity. I just thought it was a light hearted bit of fun for people who have naturally big guinea pigs. If the mods feel this thead is in appropriate please feel free to delete it. I don't want to upset anyone

I wasn't upset at all I took it in the manner it was intended, my piggy is a big lad . It is as it is x. I think it a brill idea to see our bonnie piggies x

I thought @Hermes might have thought we where doing this for the wrong reasons.

Oh my more fireworks again ! Jacks all jumpy again hiding under his hay. Got the music they like on. Can't win really x

Puzzle is not now a living pig so he should not be in the competition.
His large size actually helped him to survive a serious illness. He lost a lot of weight due to it but because he had plenty to start with, he was able to come back from it and astounded the vet :) He was one tough guinea pig!
