COVID-19 Who's had the vaccine?

My MIL had side effects to her 2nd Pfizer jab. She had shooting pains and her hands and feet swelled up. She still has the odd shooting pain now and it was 3 weeks ago she had the 2nd jab. Her hands are still a bit puffy too. She is 83 and is very well and quite fit for her age.

Hello again @PigglePuggle ! :D That's what I'm assuming/hoping, that a reaction means ones' immune system is working and giving protection. Though my reaction was quite mild. I hope the researchers are looking at all the data coming in on reactions and trying to find any patterns relating to age, other health issues, lifestyle etc, to help with future vaccination requirements.

Has she seen her doctor about those effects? I must admit, I would if it were me in that situation.
 
Just waiting for hubby who has gone in to have his first jab 🙂 I told him to book it for a time where he had nothing important for a few days after in case of side effects but he now tells me he is on an interview panel tomorrow!

Let’s hope there no side effects for him and the interview panel goes well.
I think that most people get away with no side effects or minor ones, but it’s not nice for those who do feel ill afterwards.
 
I finally got mine last week! I'm in Ontario, Canada, and they have been slow arriving, but thankfully now 3 out of 5 of us have received one shot.

All three got Pfizer... my husband and son had a sore arm and that's it, I was flu-ish for the first couple days afterwards.
 
Had the 2nd vaccine Pfizer, feel so lucky to have been able to have had it. Felt rough the past few days, but definitely much better today.
 
I had my first jab last Friday. Arm aching but the after effects were pretty mild. I felt really cold - shivering cold - and had nausea. Was gone by Saturday evening though.

I had the same reactions after my first jab. I felt shivering at night for 2 nights, a little fatigued, and a bit of back pain & headaches. Nothing that stopped me from doing anything though, just did house chores slower. It was gone on the 3rd day after the jab.
 
I've had both my doses of AstraZeneca just before they changed it for under 30s. I'm a trainee clinical scientist in the NHS so was super lucky and got my first dose back in January. I was wiped out for 2-3 days for my first dose with chills, fever, nausea and fatigue. I would describe it as flu by night and bad hangover by day and needed one day off work. My second dose was absolutely fine though, just some arm pain.
All worth it and I'm so grateful to be fully dosed up now 🥰🎉
 
I had my first one a few weeks ago, It nearly came to the point of me calling the docs as I had a thumping headache for nearly 4 days. Feeling a lot better now, but still not right. Arms feel heavy, sleeping a lot (the latter is probably just me in general... :doh:)
 
Hi, I had my first shot March 19 and my second shot April 16. I felt a little achy after the 1st one, but by the second one I did not feel hardly anything. So happy to not have to bother with it any more.
 
My DD1 turned 16 yesterday so I registered her immediately.
Sent in the form at 18:15 and she had both appointments scheduled by 18:21 :yahoo:
Two weeks until the first jab, and I will finally be able to stop holding my breath once she is done.
 
Had our first jab back in March, painless, no side effects.

Had our second yesterday, was quite painful and had an aching arm yesterday and still a bit sore today.
 
Had my second today, feel a bit achy, sore throat, upset tummy and wow my arm hurts, definitely worse than the first but feel so lucky to be full vaxed 💖💗
 
Interesting side effects today, didn't sleep last night was in too much pain by this morning I thought I was getting mastitis again as I had a golf ball size lump under my armpit and my boob hurt 😱 called the doctors as I hadn't heard of this side effect, turns out I have a lymph node infection so yay for antibiotics 😷 it hurts sooo much and I feel like death but soo happy to be vaccinated 😁 xx
 
I had the Pfizer 1st dose yesterday at 12:30. Nothing but a sore arm til about 10:30 when all of a sudden I thought I was going to pass out I just went really light headed. Barely made it to bed and fell straight asleep. Woke about an hour later going a bit hot and cold then vommed and straight back sleep. Luckily the baby decided last night was a good night to sleep through from 7pm til 6:30 and I'm feeling quite a lot better now

Ive got my first dose tomorrow morning. Dreading it as I don’t like needles (I usually pass out which always makes for an interesting appointment - although strangely I was absolutely fine with blood being taken etc when I was pregnant it’s only when I’m not pregnant that I can’t handle it) and slightly worried about any side effects. Trying to think positive though - I will remain upright and well, I will remain upright and well.....!

I'm not a fan of needles though since being pregnant I no longer have panic attacks so that's something. Where I went was really well organised. One section of the health centre just for vaccines, shown into reception, seated 2m apart and then they go round and jab everyone. Lots of people said they weren't good with needles and they were really supportive with that
