oh my goodness, you poor thing i bet you are devastated, i have shared on Facebook and we have everything crossed here that you get your girly back unharmed.

Hugs Michelle xxxxxx

Willow will be in my prayers. I hope she returns safe and sound. I'm so sorry that this is happening to you. I can't imagine the stress and pain... <3

She is beautiful, and luckily quite distinctive. I will share this photo with my animal -orientated friends and my two friend who run private rescues - - you never know, it might help. Also I will look on gumtree and preloved - I'm always searching guinea pigs across the UK as I woudl love another Texel since Evangeline died, I miss her so much - I wont buy from a breeder so I check out the free-ads just in case.

Thoughts and hugs with you, I had a pet go missing last year, we did find her unfortunately at the bridge, it is heartbreaking not knowing where she is. xx

(please don't take this post in the wrong way it is meant with best intentions)

Yes that's a good idea, for us all to keep an eye on sites like fur and feathers on Facebook and free ads x

Did you ever think about these possibilities:
1. Someone you know that is an enemy(Meaning they are jealous of your piggies) that would steal her just to make you mad?
2. A kid in the Neighbourhood's parents said they wouldn't buy their son/daughter one and he/she stole one because he wanted one that bad
3. Maybe(IK you took good care it) someone saw the others picking on her and elt bad
4. Maybe someone stole something for the thrill or was dared
5. Maybe someone was a cheap-o and they didn't want to spend $50 on a nice one and saw how beautiful yours was

I'm so sorry this has happened, every pet owners nightmare! I know you have a facebook post being shared as well so fingers crossed you hear something soon - my friend found her stolen dog through facebook so it can happen. Thinking of you xx

BIG HUGS!

I am very sorry that this has happened! They should have been safe in your garden. Good that you are moving the others to your mum's. Sadly, incidents like these seem to be on the up, always with great upset for the owners and not much chance for a recovery. It's the pit of humanity... :(

You could also try a notice at your local vets.

That is so awful and scary :-( I really really do hope that by so e miracle she has just managed to escape out and will be in your garden somewhere :-/ my neighbour had this happen with one of her two ferrets. She has them both in a hutch in the garden too. Came home one day to find the hutch door open and both missing. Thankfully one was still in the garden hiding and the other was spotted by someone on our estate a week later in their bushes. The neighbour had posted little photocopied pictures of him with a short write up through everyone's door on the estate tho which really helped! Maybe worth doing, as just as they had given up hope they got the call to say he was in someone's garden overt he other side of the housing estate! Best of luck for a safe return for your piggy xx

hopefully facebook will help, there is a lost and found pets bit on there as well, that could be worth a share..only ray of hope is that if they stole her because they liked the look of her they will be looking after her...that isnt much comfort but you know what I mean I hope xx

I'm so gutted for you. A few years ago our two bunnies were stolen from an outside hutch. What is more incredible is that our garden in the back is not accessible unless you go through the house. We actually thought foxes had got in but some garden equipment was stolen too! They had got in through a hole in the hedge.
Ive not read all the replies here but try putting posters up in local shops and maybe an ad in the paper.
So very sorry.

I think there is hope, I had a ferret "house guest" a couple of years ago, just found it trotting down the street - I picked it up and put it in my spare hutch - and put some signs up on lamp posts - and some hours later I got a knock on the door and it appears that someone had let one ferret out of my neighbour's hutch, but shut the other one safely in the cage?

Never knew why, maybe out of spite, but at least I found it and got it back to its owner :)

Nobodies outdoor pets will ever be fully protected unfortunately. Even if they lived in a shed with padlocks etc there is nothing stopping thiefs from smashing a window/knocking a door down - It's just something that's a really unfortunate occurrence and nobody should blame anybody for this kind of thing happening.

I hope the sick person who took your guinea pig has the decency to safely return her, I can't imagine what you're going through. Hopefully they have stolen her to keep her safe (for an unknown reason) and she is being well looked after. Make sure to call round all vets, knock on lots of doors and put up posters.

Do you live with anybody else? Have you not thought that the door may have swung open and your piggy escaped, and someone who lives with you has closed it without you knowing? Just thinking of a few possibilities.

I hope for your girls safe return x

Oh gosh. I'm so sorry to hear this! I know lately there has been a big rise on people sneaking into people's gardens and stealing their pets. Just the other month I watched a CCTV footage someone had on their house of this happening to their rabbit.

https://www.facebook.com/mikeyadamson94/posts/10151733071481935
Heres the footage.

I hope you are able to find your piggie. x

Just a note on that video she looks like a smoker that woman! If anyone knows if that rabbit is still being searched for then check over the fence she looks like she flicks her fag butt over the fence at the beginning! get her DNA

on another note i really hope you find your piggie there seems to be so many animal thefts at the moment, my friend recently lost her cat and after several weeks has just had it returned to her! i would defo use CCTV if i had my pets outside but I'm to cowardly to keep them outside anyway at the mo fingers crossed to you thoughts are with you

Hi. I'm so sorry to hear this my husband works in Westhoughton so I will ask him to ask around work and spread the word incase anyone has heard anything. good luck in finding your beautiful girl x

Thanks again for your thoughts everyone. We've been getting the word out on Twitter today too, as well as putting posters on the street and speaking with neighbours and the postman. Contacted my three local pets at home as they all have an adoption area, just incase someone hands her in as a stray.

Vets are on my list to contact tomorrow, I didn't actually think of that today.

We're still baffled by it. There are just me and Simon at home (with the pigs and cats!) so nobody else to close the hutch up. It has chunky toggle/latches (not the regular little metal ones) that are pretty stiff, so wouldn't fall back into place by themselves. It still doesn't make any sense!

Sadly, still no sign of my lovely girl but I'm not giving up hope of finding her well!

X x

That is shocking! What saddo would pinch a guinea pig? I don't understand people these days! It's unbelievable!
I hope she finds her way home! Thinking of you and sending out love!

Would you like me to upload the pictures of Willow to our Facebook, in addition to the message that we posted yesterday, in the hope that someone may recognise her?

Thankyou Pompypigs and Jerrybelly, both would be brilliant!

Our own vet is actually in Wigan (Wigan) I'll try all the ones in Westhoughton in the morning

Thanks again guys. Really does mean a lot to have everyone thinking of us and getting word out about her x x

No problem - which vets is yours? xx

I would keep my horse inside my house if I could - I lie awake worrying sometimes that he will be stolen :( but you cant live your live like that, worrying all the time. What has happened to you is horrible and so worrying, but fortunately it is unusual.

and I hold out hope that she will be returned to you xx

Ours is Vetcare on Ladies Lane, although none of the pigs have actually been there. They've only been to our old vet, Companion Care at Middlebrook.

We changed as our kitten's spay had to be done there as we got her from a rescue and they had a deal just with that chain of Vets. They were so lovely and good with her, we moved all our zoo there too though
