no longer a member but ive registered to post this. (zarapiggie)

I had to rush Rosie piggy to the vets this morning to be pts. She was bleeding from the mouth and writhing in pain. I rang ahead to the vets to say I was on my way. when I got there they ushered me into a little room and said "the vet will be with you asap". Ten min went by....twenty min....30 min. By this point she started fitting and a fair bit of blood coming from the mouth. no body came. She was left to writhe in pain. I could hear them in the next room carrying on with normal appointments, laughing and joking and fussing over the dogs. I had to get up and leave and literally run to vets 4 pets round the corner. Vets 4 pets dropped everything straight away and did the deed.

I'm genuinely traumatised by this. No one, animal or otherwise, deserves to die like that. Were always told to get to a vet asap if an animal is sick. what do you do if you get to a vet and are ignored?

If there hadn't of been another vet around the corner she would have been left to die in a lot of pain. She didn't deserve to be treated that way. I didn't want her to go that way...

[REDACTED]. I implore other members to consider going elsewere. They made an already bad situation 10 times worse and left me feeling powerless.

I am so sorry for what you and Rosie have been through. What a truly awful experience. I really feel for you. I was wondering were you went to. I hope you will stay on the forum. I am so sorry you lost Rosie. If you ever need to talk then I am here.

Have the vets explained why they left you? I hope complain if only so no one else has to go through the added stress. Terrible experience.

No, as I was leaving I had to walk right through the reception area and they didn't say a word. I have sent them an email laying it all out and the fact I will not be letting this lie.

Its never nice when they leave, Rosie was the only one I've had from a teeny baby which makes it harder. To have her treated that way makes it ten times worse. The second vet was also appalled and didn't charge me, which was very nice of her. She's told me to speak to the RCVS. I had to apologise to the second receptionist because I was hysterical and snarky with her, I feel bad for that but a supposed professional practice put me in that situation.

It really is shocking the way you were both treated. It is good the second vets were helpful.

I'm so sorry for your loss. At a time like this you'd expect your vets to be more compassionate. Once you've had time to mourn Rosie, I hope you'll put a complaint in because this should not have happened.

I am so so sorry you and Rosie had to go through that, it is completely unacceptable and I definitely think you have a case to take to the RVCS. Yes vets are busy but you came in as an emergency and poor Rosie suffered as a result of you not being seen in the appropriate time and that is not acceptable.

Poor you and Rosie, what an awful experience. I think you definitely have grounds for complaint and pleased you are taking this further.

Popcorn free Rosie x

Oh goodness, what a terrible series of events! I'm so sorry to hear this :( xx

Sorry you lost Rosie and in such horrible circumstances. I hope you get somewhere with your complaint.

Nice to see you on, hope you are ok other than losing your girl xx

What a terrible thing to happen, its disgusting that you and Rosie were treated like this, I feel so sorry that you went through this at a time when you both should have been treated with respect and dignity

Omg I cannot imagine how awful that was, you poor poor thing and poor Rosie. That is so upsetting. I hope you go all the way and make life very hard for them and ashamed of their behaviour. Goodness knows how you must be feeling, that's really upset me. good luck and you have as much moral support as you need from us! Rip little Rosie and hugs to you . Xx

I am very sorry about your experience; losing a piggy that way is traumatic enough! :(

Obviously the person who put you in the room failed to get the attention of thetreating vets and negelected to ensure that you were seen.

If I were you, I would write a letter of complaint to the vet clinic.

Beautiful girly :-( Popcorn free little one xx

Such an awful way to be treated, I'm so sorry that you and Rosie had to go through that. I agree with everyone else - you're right to take it further. Rest in peace beautiful Rosie, rest in peace and popcorn over the rainbow bridge. x

I am very sorry to hear this traumatic experience. I hope that the vets in question get a formal complaint and that you will get some positives from that. RIP lil one xx

Wow I'm so sorry this happened to you. How traumatic. I'm so sorry this happened to poor Rosie. She deserved far better. *Hugs her* RIP Little one. You are no longer suffering.

I'm glad you are taking this to the papers and anywhere else. How utterly disgusting.

The vet gave me a leaflet about cremation and the little urns and stuff. (she didn't force it on me or anything I saw it on the system). I'm thinking about it. I usually put them in the grave yard next door (I have permission from the priest!). It doesn't seem right somehow putting her in there given the circumstances. Not sure how I feel about it though.

From the RSPCA:

Thank you for contacting the RSPCA.

The details you have given will now be passed to an officer to assess the best course of action.

Kind regards

Hope you get the result that you want.

Popcorn free little Rosie x

Well done on taking prompt action with a complaint and contacting the right people/press. I really hope this gets the message out there so no one else has to go through this and hopefully the vets practice will improve on their treatment of clients. RIP little Rosie

I've asked in their Facebook what there policy is on in hours emergency treatment.

I'm going to speak to the second vet this afternoon to ask of she will do me a letter describing Rosie's condition and mine. Hopefully she'll say yes. That will go to the rcvs along with my complaint.

Still no reply to my email. I'm going to put it on paper and send recorded.

Which me luck I have a two hour law exam today that I could Obviosly do without!

Well done for working so hard for justice! Good luck in your exam today xx
