Hey, I’ve had this sow for around 3 1/2 years. I’ve noticed this yellow hard stuff near her rear end and thought maybe just an over active grease gland and am gonna give her a bath once I can get the proper shampoo(in a weekish) but now it’s on her nose as well? She also is biting me very hard when being handled and she never used to bite before. Was wondering what it could be and if I should take her to the vet?

If she's acting unusually, I would certainly take her to the vet.

Can you post a picture of it? It's hard to say anything in terms of what it could be from the description.

The bit on the nose could be transferred during coprophagy (normal guinea pig behavior in which they consume special poos, usually directly as they come out).
It's hard to say what the yellow is for certain. I would want it tested by a vet. It reminds me a bit of the yeast infection our rescue dog came with, kind-of a cheesy yellow ick, which would concern me that it might be more than just an overactive grease gland.

Hello and welcome to the forum. I don’t know what it could be. Sorry. But good luck at the vets.

update: I do work at a vet clinic (a kennel attendant i have no background in medical stuff) and was going to take her in today because as I was bathing her in water and baby shampoo(it was all i could get a hold of at that time) her hair was falling out in clumps. She sadly passed in my arms while I was trying to get the shampoo out. Not sure what it was but if anyone else notices this take them to the vet ASAP!
